Someone please explain to me the value of carting around SCBA gear and not donning the protective mask and breathing clean air!! I know I'm not a FF .... I've been a Paramedic and Nurse. I've treated FF's and public for fire-related injuries. This is about saving people's lives so they can live out the next 30 - 40 years enjoying their retirements and grandchildren. There are members in the burned building without their masks on. There are unmasked members standing in the smoke outside of the building. There is a white helmet watching all of this happen and no one is saying, "Geeze lads, perhaps we should put on the masks and not subject ourselves to the ravages of FF cancers from the accumulation of life-threatening chemicals and compounds from this and the next 100 other fires we'll attend!" We know that it's not just the smoke from the actual 'burning' fire but also the smoke from the residue of the fire once it is out that is dangerous and life-threatening. I truly hope everyone in this video lives to see their next 40+ years.

I'm a FF/AEMT. I'm more pissed off than anything else after watching this video. Every single person working on this fire or the mopping up, should absolutely be on air. We go on air while the fire is burning and we're in the smoke or inside; we should absolutely be wearing all PPE and going on air to do mop up. I know mop up is hard work, all the reason to go on air. When the bottle is gone, the firefighter and the firefighters in his team go to rehab.

Even the smallest 1 3/8 tip pumped at 80PSI to the tip (which is what our SOP is for master streams) you're getting 500GPM. That will put out a shitload of fire. And there's still more options, bump up your PDP for more pressure at the tip, OR change out your tip size to a bigger tip. Just switching from a 1 3/8 to a 1 1/2 tip gets you about another 100GPM.

Lmao. Gata love it JB. Any video where guys go interior, “hit it from the window, to agressive, deck gun, stay in the yard” I see it on every fire video. Thennnnnn when you see ffs perform in a defensive manner, stay outside and use master streams, then you got a fucking problem with it, and talk this shit how they should of went interior. Your getting old JB, you reminiscing on your old days where you fought 1 fire a year? When you been talking shit as long as you have, people pick up on your shit, you talk just to talk, you don’t know shit. Pathetic old man

Fire Departments don't have to care anymore. It's changed, and this video is more proof. What a clusterfu** green ic perhaps? Just don't expect them to lift anything to save your house, unless it could burn multiple structures

Yes, I agree the deck gun is a well ignored tool here. They wanted to act like children and play with the r ladder truck that only took about 4 minutes to set up when the deck gun is fully operational in 30 seconds. Bad math and tactics too. That's where the word 'Minor League' comes from!

Anyone can put on bunker gear, sit on their butts and squirt water from the street. Get off your ass and get up there and move your stream around and maybe the fire will actually go out🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
@BarneyG0079 ай бұрын
Exactly what I was thinking! That initial attack line would have been a LOT more effective if the crew actually put on their SCBA masks, got on their feet, and moved nearer to the building so as to actually get some hose stream penetration to the seat of the fire.

Lost a f/f friend to health problems directly related to smoke inhalation. It kills me to see these guys with the tanks on their backs to protect them when my buddy didn't have that option. Yet, they choose not to put the masks on! Shame on you f'f'er's that don't protect yourself because it's too uncomfortable. What will your families say when you're gone? If you don't wear it for you, wear it for the ones that love you.

It's hard to believe that American firefighters almost NEVER wear respiratory protection during operations! Crazy and I'm afraid the life expectancy of these firemen is not very high.. Very negligent and crazy! The New York fire department is the worst. Here in Europe and almost in the rest of the world something like that is unthinkable, sad and probably very poor training!! 💨💨😥😭

I am not familiar with the tactics used in the USA, nor with the building regulations there. As a deputy chief of a German fire department, however, I ask myself why it takes so long for an effective attack to take place here and why considerable additional damage is caused. Initially one, and later two, nozzles with a little foam admixture into the left and right bays to quickly contain the fire and protect the adjacent structures such as the store and the salesroom. Later, an attack on the middle bay and voilá: end of the operation. But as I said, this is just my naive assessment. I am not familiar with the local construction of the buildings or the equipment of the local fire department.
