Very nice! Funny you mentioned to watch out for the sharp knife because in my mind I was thinking ...man if I ever get a hot wire foam cutter I'll probably burn a finger now and again 😬😂 cool technique for getting those stylized "cartoon" clifs.

Thanks for the video and techniques, where did you purchase the xps foam?, loving its thickness for crafting.

This is good video to watch. I have one question, can you also use Polyethylene packaging foam for this?besides the XPS and Pink foam?

These videos have been great! Thanks so much! I would love if you'd do more. I also am thinking about starting to make my own platforms but I'm not having luck finding the foam. When I looked on like home depot it looks like they're only about an inch tall. Is that how tall your's is? Looks taller? Are you able to provide a link of where I can purchase?
@VillageVignettes4 жыл бұрын
As far as I understand you can really only find the 2” thick foam in areas with cold weather. It’s original purpose is for home insulation so they don’t sell the thick stuff in warmer climates. Not sure where you live but that might be why you can’t find it.

I feel terrible! I just finished creating a 9’ x 9’, 6 tier Halloween display for my wife using the white ball styrofoam panels. Instead of using a hot wire to create the edging (I didn’t know about the wire tool), I used my hand grinder to achieve a similar effect. Much more messy but after days of creating this massive display, I wish I had seen this first and chose the pink foam instead. Maybe I’ll rebuild the entire display better for next year. BTW, what do you use to glue tiers together? I used Great Stuff foam gap spray to “weld” the panels together. Oh well...

Did I understand correctly; the pink foam board is called insulation foam? If so, can it be bought at Home Depot?
@VillageVignettes5 жыл бұрын
Teresa Williams Yes that’s exactly right! It comes in pink at Home Depot and green at Lowe’s. All the same thing.

what type of xps foam, like R10, R 18 or what.the reason I ask is that I notice that some R rating does not cut well as others
@VillageVignettes5 жыл бұрын
Hmm I've never thought to pay attention to that before, but the kind I use is R-10. Not sure how that compares to other ratings.
