Rocky 2 really showed that rocky 1 WASNT as Mickey put it “a freak show, pure luck.” That’s why rocky 2 may be the most imprtsnt film in rocky franchsie-because without it succeeding critically and financially, the rocky series may not have existed. Continue watching the series, rocky 3, rocky 4, rocky 4 sectors cut, rocky v, rocky balboa, creed, creed 2; all of them HAVE something that sticks with you.

Also, to explain why rocky 2 has the ending to rocky 1 is because of time. When rocky 2 came out VHS tapes weren’t Exsctly as big as they became as the years went on. And as rocky 2 came a few years after rocky 1-Stallone prob thought the film needed a quick recap. PLUS it’s an awesome intro that gets you hyped up for what’s next. This would Continue in most rocky films. I think it’s smart and unique

haha NOW you see how good a writer and director Stallone was, Its fun to see you get angry at Apollo in this film, as his character has an interesting arc .You will see once you watch the next 2 Rocky films. The end of the fight actually did happen and I believe Stallone researched boxing history for a DOuble knockdown.

I love that Mick removes his hat before he interrupts Rocky's prayer. Mick doesn't share Rocky's Catholic faith, but he still humbles himself a bit to respect Rocky's beliefs, just as he stayed at the chapel earlier.

'Why are we seeing all this again?' Because, in 1979, with home video yet to become a thing, there was three years between films with no other way (unless a film was aired on TV) for anyone to rewatch the original before going to see the sequel like you could do today. It's what's called a recap, which you should be familiar with from episodic television.

Here's the thing about Apollo people don't realize at first. He's the champion because he lives for a challenge. In a way, being champion is the worst thing that ever happened to him, because there was nothing to fill that need to over come something or someone. It's part of why he became so careless and decadent when we see him in the first movie. He was almost in a state of apathy with nothing to stimulate him. Until Rocky. When his people are telling him "You beat that man like I never saw no man get beat before and the man kept coming after you!' they didn't understand what they really said was "Rocky is the PERFECT opponent for you. Someone you will need to try harder than you've ever tried in your entire life to beat." Apollo could not resist. The mere thought of fighting Rocky made him feel ALIVE. It's why he's so much more focused and intense here. It's why after he gave it everything he had and lost he was humble and kind to Rocky because Rocky gave HIM the opportunity of a lifetime that he would have regretted for the rest of his life if it didn't happen.

Here's some trivia. The guy singing on the street corner is Sylvester Stallone's brother Frank Stallone. The newborn baby is Sylvester's real son Seargeoh Stallone. When Rocky and Apollo were pushing and shoving each other after the bell rang, they weren't acting. They had carefully choreographed every punch for months before filming and Carl Weathers (Apollo) had actually hit Stallone for real in a few shots which angered Stallone and they got into a skirmish. They didn't edit it out because it added to the tension and rivalry.

Definitely the most energetic reaction I've seen to this movie. I think this is my favorite Rocky but also the hardest to watch. My wife went into a coma when our son was born. The three days that passed before she woke up seemed like weeks. Great reaction, looking forward to the rest of the series.

I actually love this reaction, you were definitely invested on this second sequel of "Rocky II" from 1979, I think this movie was a lot more moving and dramatic than the first one, because you see Rocky's development as a person later in his journey, I think in the first one, Rocky just wanted to prove to himself that he can go to distance, to see how far it'll take him, where in part 2, he has a lot more to lose because he's a father and a husband, so it gives me more of a purpose to what he's fighting for. Asi que, Me encanta esta pelicula mucho, but if you think that's great, wait til you see Rocky III (1982) I can't wait to see you react to that, that'll be fun! but you made me laugh the whole time in the end during the fight between Rocky vs. Apollo , Rocky II hitted a lot emotions, it made you cry, it made you laugh, and it made you angry. I love, love your reactions! I was just wondering if you've ever reacted to older films around the 50's-60s? The films that I'm talking about are Wait Until Dark (1967), The Nanny (1965), and Whatever Happened to Baby Jane (1962). They are more like suspense thrillers and will have you on the edge of your seat. If you watch Wait Until Dark, that's a movie that should be watched with the lights off.

You may have missed the joke after the wedding when Tony is talking to Rocky about investing in condominiums. Rocky says, "I never use them." He thinks Tony wants him to invest in condoms (condón, profiláctico, etc.) LOL!

It was amazing how the first one got wrote, made, paid for, everything. The Fonz, from the TV show, Happy Days, saved him. They were both in a movie together, a few years earlier. And Fonzie had huge power with the network, and got Stallone's script, back from the network!!😮😮😮

My favorite part of “Rocky ll” is when Rocky’s trainer Mickey said to him “you have to learn to be a right handed fighter. This will confuse Apollo and protect that bad eye”. Then Rocky said “I can’t Learn to fight right handed no more”. Then Mickey said “what’s can’t, there’s ain’t no can’t there’s no can’t. Now he will beat you uglier then you are now”. LoL

Most iconic is probably 4, then 3 they leaned into the iconic nature. The best is probably between 1 & and 2, though.
