During a press conference with Apollo and Rocky, Apollo talks trash while Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) makes jokes.
CAST: Burgess Meredith, Burt Young, Carl Weathers, Sylvester Stallone, Talia Shire, Tony Burton
DIRECTOR: Sylvester Stallone
PRODUCER: Arthur Chobanian, Irwin Winkler, Robert Chartoff
SCREENWRITER: Sylvester Stallone
FILM DESCRIPTION : Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) lost the fight to Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) but learns that Apollo thought he did a hell of a job. The defeated Rocky marries Adrian (Talia Shire), buys a sports car and is a hero in his Philadelphia neighborhood. Doctors advise Rocky that his injured eye could lead to blindness if he fights again. Rocky agrees to make some commercials, but is disgusted by the degrading junk he is asked to perform, and quits. No money...no job... and a wife to support. He sells his beloved car. But the victorious Apollo Creed has a problem too. he is being ridiculed for letting "such a bum" go the distance with him. Apollo wants a rematch to prove that Rocky's showing was a fluke. Against his wife's wishes, Rocky agrees to fight Apollo again.

The one thing that makes Rocky the enduring character, an icon, is his simple, fundamental decency, as a human being. He's a sincerely humble person. Couldn't stay mad at Mick for making him look bad at the gym. Didn't turn his back on Paulie after he insulted Adrian, and insulted him as well. Even if you know that Rocky doesn't understand what derogatory means, his "he's great" comment captures the essence of the man. He literally can't bring himself to put someone else down. It's not only because he is in awe of Apollo's ability, and admires him. It's just not who he is. Rocky has a decency I wish I could have. After courage, it is the greatest quality a gentleman can possess IMHO. He may be a fictional character, but the Rocky is one of my heroes.

The reason why the people loved Rocky is because people can ALL relate to Rocky. He's gotta pay bills, and he has no idea about high society. Now who's that? Al Capone, LOL. I love Apollo Creed. Carl Weathers was fantastic as Apollo Creed. Sylvester Stallone was fantastic too. Derogatory, Yeah, he's great & it's 10 minutes from my house.

@@tmrevenge haha thats a very good question. You wont believe me but i was wanting to ask you the same question! Despite popular opinion.. I thought rocky 5 was pretty much on par with all the other ones maybe just slightly worse than the others but still amazing. The ending was honestly dope and I loved every bit of it. I think if i had to give a favorite part i would say i get goosbumps every time i watch the part where tommy punches paully and then rocky goes "well you knocked him down.. why dont you try knocking me down now" in that specific tone of voice thats gotta be my fav part of the movie.

@@luqas99 Right? I don't want to be a stick-in-the-mud or something, but I hate how people nowadays, especially people who spend way too much time on the internet, think that acting like a normal person makes you a "troll". Rocky's just being a normal humble guy. This is one of the reason why well-written underdog characters in cinema are going out of fashion, and it's a shame.

I remember being a kid and watching this with my dad.My mom was alive and would be cooking.I’d ask my Dad a thousand questions and each time he would answer. My parents was Healthy and it actually snowed back then.Kids played in the streets and we didn’t shoot each other.I was healthy just chubby lol these where the best days of my life.My mom had the best dishes although I have tried and tried, they can’t be duplicated. We would have a fist fight and ride our bikes together later that evening. These new model youngsters are punks, can only use weapons for defense. That little house 🏡 was full of love not hate.Moms is gone now,my dad favors my sister,me and the sister/Dad dnt even talk now a days.Smh God help us
