Rocky II Movie Review (The Return of Apollo Creed)

Throughout the series, Apollo's trainer Duke, is the only one who really had faith and never doubted Rocky. Mickey, Adriane, Rocky's son all told Rocky you can't do it. Going back to the first film, Duke is watching Rocky on TV pounding the meat and tells Apollo to take the guy seriously, but Apollo just dismisses him and goes about talking to his partners. In Rocky II, Apollo is now taking Rocky seriously, Duke tells him to leave the guy alone and during his fight tells Apollo to stay away from him he is dangerous. So, throughout the saga Duke is the only one who never doubted him.

+Blake Hibberts I've always loved the character Duke. He has so many seminal moments, like in this movie when he tries to convince Apollo to "let it go". Also loved him in IV.

"East aftershave will turn the women into beasts" Awesome review Lee, Stallone my favourite action hero because not only is he a great actor he's also a bloody good writer & director & boy does this film deliver. I love the scene when Adrian tells Rocky to win & the training montage kicks in & then Rocky running with the kids it's so uplifting. And the fight is just epic, Sly himself choreographed all the fight scenes & his direction is both dramatic & intense.

Aweosme review Lee! I actually enjoyed Rocky 2 more than Rocky 1 -- like you said -- i like the progression of his character instead of just making the same film again. The fight at the end is more intense than the first one too.

I love Rocky 2, has to be watched immediately after Rocky. Didn't know about the torn Bicep fact, thanks for that. The Switch hitting was massive in the fight. Great job

Great sequel to a great movie. Rocky 1 is better but this one is no slouch. A perfect companion. Chill bumps is right. I love binging on parts 1 & 2 back to back and then going outside and mimicking my own training montage!

I finally watched this movie today with my mom and we really did enjoy it and Rocky Balboa played by Sylvester Stallone he did a great job in this movie and he was so awesome for this role and he did a awesome job as this character role and he sure did pull up a great fight scenes with Apollo Creed and it was a great rematch too and Apollo Creed played by Carl Weathers he did a good job in this movie and he was more badass as the main villain role for this movie like he did in the first film and it was good to see him rematch with Rocky too and Adrian Pennino played by Talia Shire she did a great job too as well and she was so awesome in this movie too and I thought her character was gonna died in this movie but lucky she didn’t and she made it though and I’m glad she did too and Mickey Goldmil played by Burgess Meredith he did a great job too as Rocky Balboa mentor and he did a awesome job in this movie like he did in the first film too and Paulie Pennino played by Burt Young he did a good job too as well and he was very awesome in this movie too like he was in the first film to and Mary Anne Creed played by Sylvia Meals she did a great job too as well but she barely in this movie though but she was still good for this movie when she was on screen though and overall I’m gonna give Rocky II (1979) a 10/10 stars I really did enjoy this movie and I think I like it more than the original film too but that’s just me though in my opinions and thoughts on this movie Drumdums brother

Oh and I wonder if we will ever get the orgin film of when Rocky decided to take steroids before the events of Rocky III?!?!?! And by Rocky, I mean Stallone. For the record, I do not believe that Rocky Balboa ever took performance enhancement drugs. That was always Drago’s gig.

It’s not paste as well and rags in the middle, but there are parts of Rocky two that I actually prefer over the first. The final fight especially.
