Oh I wouldn't say that. He does okay in action films but as an actor? No, no way. Can you see Stallone giving the Eve of St. Crispins Day speech from Henry V? Or Al Pacino's speech at the Baird School in Scent of a Woman? Or the courtroom scene with Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men? Stallone doesn't have the chops.

5:14 - I like the editing here. Seeing Drago's eyes drop after Rocky mentions Creeds death makes me feel like Ivan had some regret over the first fateful fight. A small sliver of humanity in Drago.

There should have been a realistic ending where Drago wins and easily defeats Balboa. This would have won the Cold War for the Soviet Union. But, considering Rocky was the writer of the ending, we don't see this.

Yeah, since the Soviets LOST the cold war it's more realistic to have the surprising underdog prevail. If they had used a 6 foot tall actor, say Rutger Hauer or someone like that, it would be more believeable. It's not Dolph's fault but he's just too big.

Gorbachev, not Putin. In the real ending Gorbie stands and forces the apparatchik to do the same. This was mid 80s stuff, when Reagan and Gorbie were trying to end the threat of WWIII. I'm an 80s Gen X guy and I love me some Ronald Reagan, but Gorbie was the other reason why the threat of nuclear war ended. This cut does Gorbie dirty.

They absolutely butchered the original. Horribly spliced in cuts, lackluster sound effects & color editing.. and don't even get me started on the ending 👎🏻 I'll take the o.g version any day! Cheesy sound effects, robot and all

Even tho I liked it, I feel the director's cut is a missed opportunity. They should had mixed both cuts instead of replacing takes. There are some editing and technical mistakes that I can't even comprehend how they made it (editing cuts poorly made, raccord mistakes, etc). I also prefer the original cut but they should had included some scenes from the 2021 cut that I love. I like the 2021 cut but I will always love the 1985 one.
