I completely agree about it being fun. I run a 100 percent street legal 88 Monte SS that runs 4.50 660 all damn day long but it's high maintenance but my other Monte SS that runs high 7 low 8 every pass and don't require the maintenance.

My stock 01 XL gets about 18mpg highway with 213k miles, and that's with a bad exhaust leak at, you guessed it, broken manifold bolts. But I love this thing...and its so cool to see someone drag racing and modding an XL. Trucks are just bulletproof and so comfortable to drive. And I didn't even realize my truck had the self leveling rear suspension and I put Monroe reflex shocks on it so the rear is a bit soft...gotta track down some 'burb Z71 springs.

I have been dying to do this event. It was great to see vice grip garage there. That dude is hilarious. But as for your 1/8 mile to 1/4 conversion you need to be around a low 8.3 to high 8.2 to get a 12.99. I usually calculate it at 1.56 because that gets you in the area. But I will be following all week. Excited to see Uncle Rob out getting it done. Good luck and be safe. And maybe I will see you at Yellobelly again sometime.

Second hack with the decals. Once centerline is found. Use masking tape to create a hinge on one side one you have it squared up. Third hack. Use a credit card or ID card as a squeegee to force out air bubbles. (Professional installation tips here. Worked part time at a sign shop while laid off as a mechanic)
