This literally has much as full power bikes of the past. Maybe you need more: but many don’t.

That'll depend on your preferences! This Rocky is approaching typical full power numbers and feel. But if you need more power, they have the non-Lite Powerplay bikes.

This should be called a first ride and listed as sponsored content. Some obvious flaws of this bike that weren’t listed: the idler adds extra drag especially with no assist on and a non competive weight for SL weight class. Amflow has more power, torque and a better battery system so all of those claims are also false.

42.9 is too much for you in a large? Right in line with most ride 60 bikes and lighter than Bosch sx bikes.

yeah that idlers def gonna add a ton of drag. Probably make the bike unrideable, that's why they don't put them acoustic bikes ever.

Thanks for sharing. We changed it from first ride review to Tech Check to better represent the content. Appreciate the feedback. This bike is far from the only one that has an idler, and various brands who put them on e-bikes and non-e-bikes typically claim minimal change in efficiency. While the proof on that is debatable and we definitely feel that there is a small penalty in efficiency, it seems to be one many people are willing to pay for based on the high pivot hype. And as far as weight goes, we just did a lightweight EMTB group test and this bike is most definitely competitive. The Amflow is pounds heavier as a material of fact, and it’s also a full power bike vs an “SL” marketed bike. But either way, it’s quite competitive inthe weight range for an aggressive emtb. Is this the best SL bike out? We don’t know yet, but it’s certainly a good if not very good option! We look forward to riding it a lot more for a thorough long term review.
