"if i can bring a smile to a sour face that to me is worthwhile " Freddie Mercury. That was all he wanted to do and i'm happy that he did that for you as he does for me everyday. :) Great vídeo :)

Do you know what, Sally, that's the best video you've made. We can all relate to what you're saying. I remember my elder brother explaining the lyrics of Ogre Battle to me back in 1974! Queen are a part of my life and were a part of my education. God bless you Sally. Keep on drumming and NEVER change the way you are. 😊

YOU ARE ME!!! Literally whenever I talk passionately about Queen, I start tearing up. Queen genuinely changed me. Queen makes me feel like I can be myself, and really helped me in a difficult time, and still continues to help me. You mentioned in the video that you were and outsider, and so was i. I never wanted to be like the other people around me, and I used to think there was something wrong with me. I learned later that it's okay to feel like that. It's okay to feel different. I also like to tell myself, what would Freddie do! And then there he is saying "Fuck em Darling" and I love that.

I cried so hard at the new Freddie video to "Love Me Like There's No Tommorow". I respect Queen so much and their music beyond belief. When I was a new fan, I was intrigued by the videos, the pictures, every thing to do with Queen is so fascinating, even now! But now, I've been in the fandom for quite a while now, still finding new facts and still obsessing over them, but I've taken the time appreciating it that now I've taken it all in, I'm left with this weird mixture of overall delight and sadness. I know not everyone enjoys Queen, and sometimes people taunt me for liking them, but then again not everyone enjoys their music taste, but they would want that respect, so I respect that and them, its just hard getting the respect back. I find this strange connection with Queen songs. When I'm sad, I listen to Those Were The Days and know life could be worse, but theres no point dwelling on it. I love Queen. They're litterally my heroes. I have quite honestly one friend at school and I'm glad she let's me enjoy the music I like, because I get to talk about how the harmonies strike me and how the power notes Freddie hits are so beautiful. I'll always love Queen because of how they've helped me cope through my bad days and it's so lovely to know how other people go through the same thing and stick through it. Thanks for making this video!!

I was the only one through school who knew who Queen was / is and cause of it I had very little in common with anyone. I was never considered normal and when we would have to talk about music or what we liked at school people didn't understand and to me Queen means so much. Their songs are often how I process emotions or feelings and mean a lot to me in different ways. I regret nothing and their influence on me will never change and I don't want it to. Excellent to see someone else share this and makes being a fan so special. Thanks Sally.

I just realized how lucky I am that I'm growing up now. I'm 13 and, OBSESSED with Queen. I don't hide it or anything, I have a Queen shirt I wear to school and, my friends even bought me some of the Queen Pop figures! I was actually really nervous to wear my Queen shirt to school for the first time, but no one really cared when I did. My friend did a presentation on me and, told everyone I would want to meet Freddie if he was still alive. I actually found people who relate to me and, are obsessed with Queen as well! After the Bohemian Rhapsody movie came out, Queen is big with the younger people now! I have actually found a lot of people at my school who I can obsess over Queen with and, no one really judges us! It's great!

I've started to listen to Queen when I was I think six or seven which was in '85, '86. I'm 40 now. When I was a child I just loved the videos for Radio Ga Ga and I Want To Break Free😁 I remember really starting to adore/worship Queen after watching Tribute To Freddie at Wembley (I was 13). I began to understand that apart from their genius music they are real true friends and have geniuine respect for each other! And I love that😍 There must have been something in the stars or wherever that these four people met and had the opportunity to create something so beautiful...music, friendship, respect, perfectly blended voices, complementary personalities...and so on... So when I'm feeling down or depressed I always think about them and it really warms my heart. Somewhere in the universe there was and still is such perfection😍😍😍 ...and now my 10 year old son has also become huge Queen fan (no suprise...😉) and I love the fact that he loves Queen and not some of todays crap. What a lesson for him and for me too... Love your drumming btw Sally... Keep on drumming and always be yourself...😘

I can’t say that I can completely relate to what you’ve said today, but I do understand it. I haven’t been a Queen fan my entire life because I’m older than the band. The first two albums didn’t even have much, if any, real notice in the US. It wasn’t until the Sheer Heart Attack album was released that people in the US took notice. Even though it’s been 45 years, I still know exactly where I was and what I was doing the first time I ever heard “Killer Queen” on the radio and from that moment on I was hooked. Obviously with Queen being a popular band in the late 70s when I was in high school I was never given a hard time by my peers for them being my favorites, but I did have to hear a little crap from people during the whole Hot Space album era. Anyway, the whole magic of Queen is that they’re 4 guys who did the the sort of music they wanted and they loved their fans for loving them. You being a next generation fan shows how powerful the message to their fans was and how its power continues nearly 50 years later. I’m glad you found at a young age what moves you and I’m glad you’ve never given it up even if it was unpopular and even if it would have been easier to do so .Be yourself, follow your heart. That’s the Queen life. As an aside, my nephew’s wife is about your age and she’s a massive Queen fan. When we met for the first time that fact forged a great bond between us.

Other people will always find a way to bully you. I also always was different from people in my age. I love reading books, art, cats, vintage style, crazy clothes, Queen, Marvel and comics plus I always had the best grades in class and because of that I´ve never had many friends. Because od Freddie after seeing Bohemian Rhapsody I realized that beeing different is not bad. I decided to be even more myself and I´m spreading my chaotic energy at school on 100%. I´m still sometimes sad because of behavior of other people, but I know that they have psychic complexes and they aren´t brave to be themselves in front of other people.

I can so relate to you. I have so much love for Queen 👑 and Freddie. I was born in ‘92 and missed the change seeing Queen live with Freddie but through the music you always feel legacy of Queen will last long alter we all are gone. Of course sometime specially when Freddie’s birthday or his death anniversary are coming up it make me very emotional cause you can’t help but wonder what other amazing thing he would achieve in music and hopefully find happiness in his private live. There are those songs that always make me cry and Show must go on is for sure one of them.

Welcome to being a Queen fan lol. I got into Queen when I was a kid in the 80s while Freddie was at his prime. Even then it was the same attitude as in the 90s. People would say the same kind of crap and read the sun newspaper. At the end of the day I didn't give a poo if he was gay or not. Loved the music , the image and all that came with it. They were never cool but that's what made them great! And when I was lucky enough to see them at Knebworth in 86 at 13 years old and see 120000 plus fans with the same mindset, well that was mind blowing. You explained how alot of feel absolutely spot on. Great to see! Freddie is an inspiration to us all

I was very lucky when it comes to school and my school mates. People that know me know that I'm not the "usual" guy. I'm 19 years old and just finished school this march. I'm very much into mathematics, you could say passionate about it, I listen to Queen (noone else in my school does that),I play video games since the age of like 4, I'm pretty much a nerd. But EVERYONE excepted me, I was really popular at my school, though I am kind of calm and introverted, but always polite, helpful and kind. To hear that many others weren't as lucky as I was and still am, makes me sad and a bit angry. I still want to thank you for that message as it helps others for going through tough times. P.S. Sorry for my harsh english, Greetings from Germany!

Well, i must say, that is really "fascinating" that how many people around the globe (including myself) came up front of a bully situation because of a music preference. Stupidity is a global phenomenon, believe me. But, you know, as you grow old, you actually realize how bad it was for your mental health to listen to all these maliciously comments from all these toxic "friends" during the years of youth! Queen was not a band that produce just good music..no!!Their music has always been an auditory bliss to our ears!! So, you get the point! 😉 Greetings from Athens, Greece!

I know a 9 year old girl who's obsessed with Freddie, and when I went to see Bohemian Rhapsody there were women in their 60's crying. Queen have always swum against the stream. They are a great band for those of us who don't follow the group think. They do change lives! And I wouldn't be surprised if Brian or Roger found your video. And I know that Freddie would be really, really proud.

I myself also grew up with Queen and have been in a similar situation but less extreme that what you have said! Queen is a legendary band! I recently filmed and edited a Freddie Mercury video for my HND Media course and most of the people questioned: why focus on Freddie? I showed them the song I intended to use and gave a literal PowerPoint presentation on the context behind the project and they understood how much Freddie and Queen meant to me!

you are a wonderfully talented, beautiful person, I really enjoy your videos and this one really made me emotional. Even in adult life, people think it strange that I love Queen and Freddie...they think that just because of the movie I suddenly became this Freddie freak and that is so not true. I am 58 years old, I have loved Queen since I was 13..were there times that they were on the back burner yes, but, every year of my adult life there was always Queen music, always paid attention to what they were doing, listened to new music they had out and watched their videos...oh, and front row in front of the television for Live Aid. I am so glad that you stayed true to yourself and followed exactly what I believe that Freddie would have said too...F'em, who cares what they think, you be you. Because now that I have found out what Freddie and Queen were as people, as men, they are the best role models to follow. Good people, with kind hearts, who followed their dreams and passions and became Icons. Keep up the good work on your youtube channel, I love it, stay just as you are....and to 1 person who hit the unlike...really?? what is the matter with you lol...

Queen also changed my life in many ways! when it was happening i don't think i realized how much i was changing, but now i really see it. I love going to the cinema a lot and basically watch any movie that sounds mildly interesting, so when i saw the trailer for bohemian rhapsody i thought it looked really cool and went to watch it. i didn't think i would enjoy their music THAT much, because i've always just listened to mainstream pop, but i literally could not stop listening to the band and watching interviews and learning all about each member. I then started listening to New Wave, more 70's and 80's bands, Elton John, and now I literally appreciate so many kinds of music while before I would straight up just not like it. not that i had anything against it, but my ears where really not used to older music. my clothing style was extremely influenced by the music i was listening to as well, and my bedroom decor is very different. my father has a huge collection of old records that i have never cared to listen to, and now i literally have my own record player and buy myself records to listen to everything. i wonder how boring my life would have continued to be if i hadn't found Queen.

I like to think music had changed my life also. As a kid, my mum and dad would play ABBA, The Beatles and Queen and i liked it but didn't fully understood it! I got through school by being a good kid and getting on with things and having a small amount of friends. Wasn't until my teenage years that I loved music thanks to a college friend. I got into older bands like, Pink Floyd, Rush, King Crimson, The Beatles, Abba and then Queen and boy, thank god I did. Bass playing since 2010 because of John Deacon and I'm so glad I picked up a instrument so only had keyboards in my crappy school!

I’ve loved them since 1977, but when I saw Crazy Little Thing called Love on the telly here in 1980 Australia (I was 10), that was the song where they became the passion of my life (don’t get me wrong, I adored their earlier stuff, but something happened with that song specifically - I thought Freddie was the coolest, sexist thing in his leather, and who could forget the clapping hands coming up from the floor!) I’ve never been as connected to a band as I have to Queen. They also helped me through tough times, and the resilience, philosophy and essence of Freddie lives on in his music - which is why I am reenergised by their music. The message to carry on and just be me is always with me through Queen. I’ll be 50 at the end of this year, and shall be seeing Brian and Roger early next year - my gift to myself, since I was robbed by my parents of seeing them in 1985 in Melbourne... We even drove past the concert venue the morning of the concert - so close, but for far! I’ve never forgiven her for that. She reminded me recently that I didn’t speak to her for two weeks after that! 😝 They have been, and always will be, the soundtrack of my life! So, I’m hearin’ ya!

Hopefully everyone can relate to a band/artist that changed everything for somebody.I fear music is so plastic and mass produced these days a lot of kids don't get this amazing epiphany anymore. For me it was the Sex Pistols, they made everything I heard previously obsolete and guided my musical journey for decades, but whatever sparks that light for people, it's a magical journey and I couldn't imagine life without it.

This is probably going to get lost, but this video meant a lot to me. Somehow I found this, even though I’m pretty late. I can relate to all of this- Queen being my favorite band and one true interest. I remember listening to Somebody To Love for the first time and thinking of how great a song it was. It was uphill from there- and around that time I was finding out who I was. I love fashion, and vintage nicknacks, not to mention playing the piano and drawing. Freddie Mercury inspired me to be myself and that it was okay to love my gender and have multiple interests. It was alright to dress up fancy every day regardless of occasion. On bad days, for me Death On Two Legs or Flick Of The Wrist we’re my go to’s. I’m glad there’s someone out there who feels the same, and I’m incredibly happy you made this video!

I want to break free was my anthem for a long time till I found the courage to leave a toxic relationship. I also love Queen and didn't become a fan til 1991 and Queen greatest hits 2 was my first ever CD I ever brought from then on I was a fan and Queen were and still is my favourite band ever that will never change now I'm living on my own and love being free from my past. I currently am starting to learn to play guitar Brian is my inspiration. Inside my heart will forever be a place that is just for Freddie he makes me smile everyday I start and end everyday with Queen and I love it. Love your channel Sally I also love that there are others who love Queen and Disney to the max. #Queenfan4life #Disneyfan

I'm totally supportive to you. I have a very similar history when I was young, nobody understand that I like a band where the singer was gay and it was gone. But anyway, I love the video, and it's awesome that today I could see people of 12 or 15 years with Queen Tshirt, I can't never imagine that on the mid 90's

Hi Sally! I am a fan from a land Far-Far-Away :) called Estonia. I`ve being following your posts for (unfortunately, yet) only a little of time but I am so very happy, that there is somebody who shares the same passion to Queen as I, but unlike me, doing it here so brilliantly! I can quite much relate to your story as being an "outcast" in terms of music, at least, since that was exactly what I experienced - I`m 45 now an when I went to school the music played was either heavy metal (which I also liked) or disco. Being a Queen fan was a way off.. :) Actually, I also started to take drum lessons at the time... :) Thank you for unforgettable emotions and keep rocking on!

Thank you so so much for sharing this, my daughter is 14 and a massive Queen and The Darkness fan, they are her life! She is literally you at school, bullied, ridiculed and generally everything you described. It was so nice for us to watch you and know she is not alone and she will come out the other side of this hell. So thank you with all my heart! I think watching your vlogs will make such a difference to her. 💕 xx

In America we did accept Queen but in certain conversations it was considered taboo because people didn't take the time to learn about the band. The very name Queen turned some people off.until the music I feel generally won them over.Great video Sally.Cheers

Sally, what a great video! Have been a huge Queen fan forever! At your age, I was exploring many of the Jazz greats- Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, etc. --> so I was pretty much on my own too. My children grew up with all kinds of music in the background. My younger daughter is near your age. Will fwd the link to your inspiring video. Thank you for sharing your thoughts... (Found you thru James Rundle) PS, Buddy Rich, a great jazz drummer. But not as cute as Roger!
