We rescued our Lily from the humane society 7 years ago. We lost 2 dogs, one was with me for 17 years, the other was with us for 8 years. We went to see the puppies. This little tiny puppy was in a cage on top of other dog cages. She had just been returned for the 3rd time. She was 3 months old. She is collie/pit mix. She had/has so much energy. She now works to protect my home/yard and chickens as well as protect our senior neighbors home. She goes and checks on them like she does us. She has a special bond with my middle child who has anxiety and they work through it together. She learned to climb ladders to get to my daughter. She taught herself how to get to the top bunk if my daughter needed her. She has her own pool float for the pool so she can be with us. Very greatful for finding her! Thank you for all you do for these babies!

I rescued a Pekingese who had hardly any hair due to allergies and neglect and huge mats behind her ears. She had a history of biting people. NO WONDER!! I bathed her 3 times before all the fleas were gone. After about 3 months of constant vet visits for ear infections, a fungal infection in the folds of her nose, and ingrown eyelashes, she morphed into a beautiful and happy little treasure. I had the pleasure of her company for many years with no more biting incidents. She was and is still the BEST friend I've ever had, even after many other pets over 40+ years.

Rocky, thank you so much for talking about giving little dogs the same respect as bigger dogs. I have a chihuahua, a breed that gets a bad rap for being ill-tempered. But the minute my daughter came in from school that wee cutie chose her own future! She immediately bonded with my daughter and they had 18 wonderful years together! I was 70 and had chosen not to stop having mammograms, but I had nipple pain and decided to stop taking my estrogen thinking it caused the nipple pain. My major misdiagnosis. I called my doctor about the pain, his receptionist insisted I have a mammogram. I got called in for a second one and I gripped that I just had fiber cystic tissue. I asked and was shown the mammogram and I knew immediately it was cancer. The irregular border and the location.

I believe these two little girls are Biewer Terriers. Recognized by the AKC in 2021, the Biewer Terrier is a toy dog of German descent that is the result of two Yorkshire Terriers with a recessive piebald gene breeding. The differences between the Yorkshire and the Biewer are the coat color and Biewer's tails are not docked, they are long and fluffy. Yorkies are usually Black & Tan colored, while Biewer Terriers are always Tri-colored, (White and Black with some gold on the face). I have two Biewers, Ralph & Alice. They are the sweetest dogs I've ever met and smart as a whip. With a whole lot of TLC these dogs can be a real joy to have as a pet. I'm so glad they found you Rocky.

My daughter adopted a little rescue dog into her family when her kids were young and she was a really sweet little thing. She had been abused badly and was kept in rehab for a full year before they considered getting her adopted. They were expecting a hand shy dog and she prepared the kids to talk softly and be careful about hands so the little dog wouldn't think she was going to be hit, but as soon as she met the kids in the back yard she fell in love with them, and they never had a problem. Rehab is so important. I'm glad these dogs are with people who recognize that it takes as long as it takes.

What about adopting a senior lap dog? They definitely improve your quality of life. I'm not far behind you and have a 14-year-old Chihuahua who delights in keeping my lap/legs warm. If she dies before I do, I'll be getting another dog. I can't imagine not having one or more dogs!! My kids will take them if I go first.

They're cutie pies for sure! I hope they heal their emotional scars as quickly as the physical ones. ❤❤

Perhaps the people turning them in, possibly the owners or related to owner, who could not care for them, turned them in out of compassion. Perhaps the people are in a very difficult situation too and in need of prayers. I hope they see the help these two dogs are already getting. The dogs were in very bad shape, but brought to a safe place. I am thankful for all those helping to get these dogs feeling better.

I agree. It looks like the young male is making the older woman take an action. We don’t know her story, so let’s just acknowledge that dropping them off was an act of decency.

I thought the same thing & maybe shame or not understanding they won't be in trouble kept them from completing the paperwork. Still curious on the precise age estimate for Pippa.

The sister pup is so sweet too. My heart breaks for these two sweet pups, Pippa and Polly. Shame on their previous owners!!! Both of these sweeties deserve a second chance and a loving home!

I don’t know how anyone could be so heartless to abuse and mistreat an innocent doggy that depends on us to care for them, love them, guide them. Heartbreaking and very glad you took this doggy. Thank you for sharing your story

Wow! Such a difference with Mel handling her. Mel's confidence is built from many many years of experience and knowledge. It breaks my heart seeing those open wounds.

I can’t wait to see the pupdate. With your videos I always gravitate towards the most wounded, sad looking dogs. If it were a thing anyway in the realm of possibility, I fell immediately in love with the gorgeous German shepherd missing an ear and wanted to take him home. And these little ones. The ones who need you the most always have the most pull on me. And I’ve never even had a dog! Just taken in cats in desperate situations. They pretty much make the decision, but still. We rescued a sick, dying, crazy dumped cat from our roof who has slept in our covers for over 10 years now. 🐈

I adopted a Pomeranian that had maybe 20 hairs on her. She was completely pink. When I went into the shelter they were getting ready to take her back. The vet suspected mange but it was actually severe allergies from fleas! Bless her heart, she was scared of men. She was my little shining light.

A surgery suit can help keep her from scratching and chewing. Its like the onsie she's wearing but it covers the abdomen and legs. But also leaves room to go to the bathroom. So excited for these two bless thier hearts. The chexmix is also called muddy buddies
