For 33 years my dad had a Uniflite cabin cruiser, 42 feet long. For those that think that's a truck, it's not, lol. Uniflite was a boat company out of Bellingham, Wa.. It came out of the factory in '73 w/twin Cummins 903's which are 8 cylinder & about 330 HP apiece, maybe a tad more. My father bought it from the original owner in early '83 & took great care of that boat and those engines and I learned to love Cummins ever since. Back in '73 when our model was made Uniflite either put Cummins in them or 6 cylinder Detroit's My old man always said the Detroit's were excellent engines too. When I see a Pete w/Cummins it makes me happy especially since CAT had to get out of the truck engine business. Anyway, gorgeous Peterbilt you had there and my only thing is I'd want the double bunk which you mentioned. Nice vid here too.

I saw Vlogs of truckers while browsing KZbin. You must have a tough job. I remember traveling with my grandfather when I was 16 to buy our new home from Ann Arbor to Miami. Three of my girlfriends were with me in the truck my grandfather drove. It was a great trip for us girls. My grandfather even had me drive his truck for a little while. (their roads were quiet and under my grandfather's control) We were on a long journey. But we had so much fun. We could take a break wherever we wanted. Now we are studying at the university. I would love to make a trip like this again with my friends one day.

Mine has one but it is useless unless you are team or 2 dudes. i would rather have the open ceiling for excellent stereo sounds. Couple of things you didnt mention or show, Excellent Stereo system with huge Subwoofer under bunk!! and....nice pull out workstation, also, the factory fridge is excellent, lastly, the privacy curtain uses a full-length "flexible" magnet as a closure, Works really well. NO more fighting a stupid zipper up and down. you can just push it and the curtain opens!! BUT....my ride is ....White...whaat-whaa....I love that Orange...Looks tasty!

You can get a Green APU for way less than the TK TriPac. The Green APU can be set up to keep your batteries fully charged. Parts for the Green APU can be had at any automotive parts store. It also weighs less than the TK unit. The top of the CB antenna should be at least a foot higher than the faring for better SWR and reception. Having a 13'6' trailer behind it will block the signal. I have3 had CB Radios since 1969 so I know something about it

Nice cockpit upgrades. A modern dash, steering wheel, etc. however, I am not comfortable not seeing dedicated primary and secondary air gauges. Even if the digital dash is fully configurable. Looks like the buyer is still staying old school on the brakes by staying with drums front and rear. This is a pretty truck. I like the looks of the truck overall. But it kinda has the overall look and feel of a Volvo VNL 670. Not necessarily a bad thing, unless your totally a conventional long nose guy.

I drive a Peterbuilt 579 I think, with TMC. My truck does not have the Thermoking that can provide AC with the engine off. Does that run thru the APU system? That might be why we don't have them we don't have APU's. I like my truck, I do wish the sleeper birth curtin was one of those that wraps around the entire cab instead of cutting the cab in half (sleeper section) but ive seen some people make sun shade reflectors and put them on the window/dash window for privacy. That would do the trick and I could do that I just havent yet. Love the colour though.
@thebulktv72632 жыл бұрын
Firstly as someone who is starting to grow an interest in trucks (I'm a Brit), I love the look of this thing. I liked the walk-around to see more of what that one has to offer. I love the colour, engine, and especially the interior which was great. The standing up to get into the back would be a struggle If I ever got in one as I'm very tall. The Cabin space was great I liked the look of the bed area with all the storage and then the mount for the TV. If you don't mind me asking how much would one of those cost? (you can tell me In dollars)
@TenchiFox2 жыл бұрын
The two examples I saw were listed at $239K. That's about average for a new rig of this caliber. It's sort of funny you like these trucks so much, because I'm American and love the cabover trucks you get in Europe. We don't get any cabovers here in the states anymore, and I just think how much sleeper space you could get if you took a COE truck and made it as long as a traditional cab truck like this one.
@thebulktv72632 жыл бұрын
@@TenchiFox Yeah I've always wondered how they approach this in the design process. Because I like them both, as It started for me with the Euro trucks and then I looked at what you guys have over in the states and It is interesting to me how different they are for doing the same job. I think It's cool. For example how Volvo make a USA style truck to just sell more units of their great system (I've heard great things about their euro ones)

It’s expensive for us but at the end of the day the US is the 2nd largest oil producer in the world. Unfortunately you guys in mainland Europe just don’t have that sizable of an oil reserve. Everyone says become energy independent but it’s not that easy if you don’t have that much of a natural reserve. US gas will be inexpensive again eventually. Blessings to you.
