I came across a vocal coach who charges $750 per hour for private lessons. He claims to be able to teach you to sing "better than anyone." I asked him this question: "Out of your ten most recent videos, one featured a male student. One featured you. Seven featured female students singing songs that were originally sung by men and one female student who covered a song originally made famous by a woman. Clearly rock music is a heavily male dominated art form (just as today's pop music is dominated by women) and that has resulted in most of the classics being originally sung by men. That rock is a heavily male dominated art form is why it makes perfect sense that you would showcase your students singing so many songs originally written and recorded by men! What I don't understand, and maybe you like to shed some light on this, is why in such a heavily male dominated art form as rock music, only one of your ten most recent videos features a male student of yours. I'm asking respectfully. I'm hoping you'll answer me respectfully." He refused to answer. Why is he so defensive about his policy of showcasing female students 8 times more than male students? Him saying nothing says a lot about him. Makes you wonder what he has to hide, doesn't it?

I'm curious to find out what the 3 fundamentals are. Having seen maybe 1 0 or 12 of your videos since subscribing to your channel a few days ago, I get the idea that your approach to teaching people to sing is at least kind of like Jaime Vendera's methods. in that both of you are about simplifying singing into common sense ideas and making your approaches very practical and effective. Well, Jaime Vendera has said at least once that the three fundamentals of singing are Breathing....Support...and Placement! That makes a lot of sense to me so I am curious to see if your 3 fundamentals will be the same three. Jaime Vendera does not have a big KZbin presence but he's been teaching singing since somewhere around 1996 I think. He has a bunch of KZbin videos that are very short and just a few that are longer. He has written the book titled Raise Your Voice and has coached bands on tour when their lead singers were struggling to make it through the tour. So like you, he has more real world experience than most KZbin coaches who have no onstage or on tour experience and tend to take an overly intellectual approach, needlessly complicating things at times, while at other times explaining things in confusing ways. I know you asked for people to tell you about vocal coaches you might like, so I'm suggesting Jaime Vendera. He even rehabbed himself from a severe nerve injury in his throat. Jaimie had made a wine glass or something shatter with his voice and a hsard of glass flew right into his mouth and injured a nerve! So, Jaime has experience with almost losing his career too. @@RockYourBestVocals That makes sense. The two of you have a somewhat similar approach to teaching and you're also two of just a handful of rock vocal coaches on KZbin who have considerable experience onstage. Sounds like Elizabeth Sabine must have really been impressive!

I mean i am no fanboy, but Chris Liepe always tells experience things on how they feel and have proper breath support. in all of his videos. Isnt that the same kind of basis that you just explained? :)

Yes, in a way… I love Chris! Chris has a great voice naturally, and because of this hasn’t had to really struggle and deeply analyze what truly makes or breaks great singing. From what I see, he is still playing around discovering his voice… I don’t think he sings live, and it’s like night and day. You understand much more when you have to sing the stuff live. He talks about the way they feel to him (sitting down in a chair)… truth is, singing feels different for each singer but he naively speaks like it’s THE way. Also, yes he preaches support, but he doesn’t talk of, or demonstrate ALL components of support… I think he misunderstands some components- in a way, parroting what he hears other more experienced coaches (like Tamplin) say… 🤷🏼‍♂️

i just been getting into vibrato and oophm in my voice i been "attempting" to sing for like maybe a year im all for helping me get better thank you as a guitar player myself ic so many youtube videos but none show the proper way they show gear but not how to dial it in properly so i completely understand what you mean i get it we have to make a living but these courses are bs you should teach bc you love what you do (eventually all that good juju comes back)
