Come on trolling in a kayak and catching 2 big gals. That is impressive. My fear is that the rod is history but I like your tenacity to locate it. Another good day on the water. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Mark! Yep, she's a goner but that's ok. Things happen and I always say live & learn! I do love the shorter net handle too. haha. Cheers.

I was so hoping you’d find your Rod but the trade off of catching those big bass seems worth the day spent searching. 😊 Thanks for sharing your videos it makes the winter in Colorado a little more bearable.

Thanks so much. I agree. I gave it my best shot at finding the rod and got a decent consolation prize! hahaha. I have the new replacement rod (exact same model) and it's spooled up and ready to go! PS... I love Colorado! Spent some of my favorite vacations there climbing mountains. Mt. Elbert, Mt. Sherman, Grays Peak, Mt. Bierstadt to name a few. Lovely area!

Dont give up. I flipped my kayak under a low bridge during a tournament over 10 years ago and i got the two rods back using the same anchor you are trying. I was standing on the shore siaking wet and luckily it didnt take too long.

I'll give it a look every time I'm there but just won't spend hours trying to find it.

Super nice fish this trip. I wouldn't have thought about trolling. Although when we troll for walleye up north with spinner rigs we catch a lot of smallmouth. When I'm bass fishing I just always think casting. Still disappointed you didn't find your rod but you have tried. Thank you so much for the video.

Thanks Jerry! Yeah, I agree.... dragging my bait in the water while I relocate has never gotten me any quality fish until today. Weird. They wouldn't hit a moving bait (spinnerbait, chatterbait, or topwater) today to save my life, but they'll hammer this dragged fluke. They were definitely in a different mood but I'll take it! My rod & reel will most likely remain in its watery grave for an eternity! Live and learn!! PS.... I do LOVE the shorter net handle though!! haha

Tracy I just want to commend you on starting focused on your day! Although you didn’t find your rod at this time you didn’t let it bring you down and affect your day and still caught some great size bass! Thanks for sharing another successful day on the water still bringing the best! Tight lines take care and God bless!

Appreciate the kind words! It was a fun one. Catching big fish sure lightened the mood!

If you want to find your rod , get a metal fish stringer open all the clips cast it from another rod in the area, this works.
@OldLadyAngler10 күн бұрын
I'll keep that in mind! Thank you!

Wow! Talk about catching some studs! You are killing it lately. Gonna have to get you back south and put you on some python action!
@OldLadyAngler9 күн бұрын
Careful Ant-Man I just might take you up on that. I'll be down in South Florida the whole month of January

I think we can make that happen 😊

She loves her Lynx. I'm with you, I prefer a more stable yak.

One possibility with rod and reel is that maybe a fish went for the lure and moved it ... Any more luck with the winged fluke ...
@OldLadyAngler11 күн бұрын
😂 sounds funny but that's entirely possible.
@OldLadyAngler11 күн бұрын
I haven't thrown the winged fluke lately. I only have a couple left. Next trip.

Another great video, Thanks...wanted to ask you what are you using for lading gear ? Is it the rig you started out with from Native or did you switch to something else ?
@OldLadyAngler4 күн бұрын
It's still the Native Sidekick landing gear.

@@OldLadyAngler Has it got any easier removing it once in the water ?
@OldLadyAngler2 күн бұрын
The trick is to remove / install them before you leave shore. I just wade out a little bit and do it in the water. MUCH easier.

Someone may have saw your location and got the rod.
