My mom just died at the end of November....a few days after Thanksgiving that I didn't get to spend with her :( I haven't thought about this song in a long time. It popped in my head tonight but I didn't remember the name of the signer or the song lol doesn't matter how I found it really but I'm glad I did. My mom was 60 when she passed & I'm 23. I remember being a little girl, dancing & signing in our living room to this song. ”whatever road you choose, I'm right behind you win or lose” that was the kind of mom she was. Rest in peace mom I really do love you and miss you

Terrence Thompson I hope your Mom is resting in peace and I can tell from your post that she was a proud mama. I just had to write to you because ever since my son was 2 y.o. I think of him whenever I hear this song. He graduates high school in May and as one of his gifts I plan to have the lyrics printed on a scroll. When he was a toddler this song was used in a PAMPERS commercial where different animals were running with their young. When he would see the commercial he would smile and snuggle against me which let me know that he understood the commercial. That is one of my favorite memories. I'd always liked this song but that made me love it. Thanks for sharing your memory of your mom. Take care of yourself.

I work as a Lunch Monitor for Elementary School children. There have been times I've advised them, protected them, and ultimately gone to bat for them. To hear this song, and to absorb it's lyrics... it really defines my perspective. I don't have children of my own. Doing what I do for a living is the closest I've come to it. I'm proud to have rightfully earned the respect and the praise of the students and faculty alike. Every time I hear this song, it reminds me of the students. It reminds me of my role, and it reminds me of all the things I've done on their behalf. How great would this song be for a graduation? "Ladies and gentlemen! The Class of 2022!" And this song plays. What a powerful song and meaning...

Man, I feel like it was just yesterday. My science teacher played this to my class, he said he wasn't really good at saying goodbye's. So he decided to play this song and he made me cry because I was going to miss him, Right now I'm a freshman and I still miss my Middle school. Ever since I heard this, I be listening to this to remember the good old days, And the most emotional part about this is that my teacher wrote a letter, and at the end he said "stay forever young" and till that day I cherished that quote to always go on.

Music today is not like the 80s , 70's , 60's and so on. I've been listening to these kinds of music all my life. U2 , Crowded House , Cutting Crew , Prince , Duran Duran , Bon Jovi , Toto , Tears for Fears , OMD , AC,DC , Guns and Roses ,Matthew Wilder , Hall and Oats ,Simon and Garfunkel , Rolling Stones , Beatles , Foreigner , Paul Young , Simple Minds , REM , Richard Marx , George Michael , Boy George , White Snake , and so on. My point is some songs today have no emotion curse words. I really hate curse words and I am 15 years old. When I hear someone cursing it makes me so angry. Dong get me wrong there are many great songs out there today but majority of the songs today are about sex and profanity. 80s songs have emotion about a guy or girl loving each other. There are still great songs today but majority of the songs today are plain. People tell me that those songs are old. Yes it is old but it is great. Don't get me wrong there were songs back then that were trash but majority of them were fantastic. My point is it doesn't matter how old is the song it only matters how good the song is. If someone says your lame ignore them because listen to any song you want and go crazy , have fun. It doesn't matter how old the song is the only thing that matters is if the song has emotion. You are cool for being yourself. I listen to the oldies and I tell my acquaintances. They say the music is lame and I couldn't care less. This is me I listen to old song. There are many great songs I listen to today. Only if it has emotion. I cant stress this to you anymore than I can. Have a great day everyone.

+kristijan blazevic glad to see theres at least one person who can admit that there are still good songs out there today. though it may still be opinion and preference, i do have to agree, I'm a lot more fond of music from a later date than what i'm given today. but in my opinion, the best decade of music was the early 2000's.

I've noticed that. Most of the classic rock songs that I hear don't use curse words, although there is plenty of sexual content - they're just more classy about how they word it. I'm not a huge fan of songs that are filled with cursing either. There is a time and place for that (if I hit my finger with a hammer, I'm not going to say "golly gee" or "gosh darnit", I'm going to yell "DAMMIT FUCKING SHIT"). But it seems to cheapen the music if there are too many of them.

steven murphy Thank you.. It's very heart breaking when something like that happens espically to your friends. My best friend was killed by a drunk driver who was also underaged and didn't have a license. he survived but my friend didn't and was thrown from his truck along with 4 others :'(

This song brings forth so many different emotions for me. A good friend of mine recently passed away at the age of 20. We used to listen to this song on full blast in our car rides home from basketball practice. Seriously one of the most sincere and kind dudes on the planet. Miss you buddy

Alex Abandon iam sorry about your friend I know how it feels. My best friend since 6th grade and in 1999" July we played softball on Sunday and he rounded 3rd base and collapsed on the spot. Of course this was before they had emt close by. So I knew CPR and tried so hard to bring him back. 20 minutes later the emt showed up but they were about 15 minutes late. And he died in my arms. 29 years old and we played this at his funeral. Coming from a small town every one knew that we were like brothers. I sometimes play this song with other songs we loved. And everytime I hear this I can't help it but I cry and it still hurts. So whoever said time heals all wounds--not true. All time does is close the wound but the scar is forever. Rip Michael Scott Harris. The best friend I ever had and probably will never be replaced.👥

I really do not care who sings this when it comes to the critics making preferences and cutting remarks. The song is so lovely, with such meaningful lyrics and a melody that can be just as beautiful in so many varied arrangements. I love absolutely all versions, sung by anyone......and it means that Bob Dylan gave us all a timeless classic no matter what form it takes or whomsoever sings it. Happy New Year 2016 to all viewing and may we all remain Forever Young as long as we possibly can!

You know when you're young and say I can't wait until iam 18 etc. This song is about staying young in your heart but it's like when you leave the only home you ever have known. Its like a lioness when it is time for the male son to start a new life and she hopes she has served him well and to her you will always say forever young. I miss my mom who died of cancer in 2016" and she wanted me to play this song because she hoped she did her best and to always say forever young.🙏

When I finished Elementary school, our gym teacher put together a slideshow that had pictures from when we were in kindergarten until fifth grade, this song was one of the ones that played. When we graduated high school, we did a field trip type thing where we visited our Elementary schools again, and they showed us the video again.
