Karen ..I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my 39 yr old son 13 years ago. I just found an old CD he had made of some of his favorite songs. This is one of them. He was a born again Christian, so I know I'll see him again. My husband died 2 days after my son...deaths not connected. I just recently found out the hospital chaplain had led him to the Lord shortly before he died! I was wondering about his situation with Jesus ... Now I feel I will see him again too . Yeah he says he belives in Jesus but he still is looking for something else....its a reference to the scripture.Most music legends face a breaking point where they essentially have to break through their conscious and basically deny Jesus to choose the world.We find those moments referenced by all this big musicians Bono,Jared Leto,Katy Perry,Michael Jackson,Jay-z Beyonce and former Kanye West...when sin takes over and you tell Jesus"back off i want this".You have to start making a case with Him as He comes out and says"whoa whoa son do you see where you are now headed?"Its basically a quarrel with their own hearts.We see that conflict been published in their scriptures.It happens when you reach great depts of baxksliding and sin..when Christ tells you "you know you are heading yourself to hell,right?And their conscious kicks in and they want to start questioning the obvious.Christ is Lord wether we agree or disagree.And yes there is life after death those a facts engraved in each one of us' heart.

This song resembles life and our journey as individuals. Music is a personal experience and we can relate one way or another to the lyrics and interpret it in many ways - love, relationships, a relationship with ourselves , "our creator", the universe, faith, etc. I believe this is the meaning of life, to constantly find what we are looking for and all ends into faith in life itself.
@xrxs10203 жыл бұрын
I'm reading many interesting interpretations of the lyrics, but no one can translate a quality work of art for anyone else. What we see into it is what it means, like a Rorschach test. Best.

It's so sad in a way no matter where you go in nature you'll find the beautiful world God had made, but never in your life can you actually be with him, only in spirit, only in faith. The closest you can get to him is with the faithful and in your dreams. One day though we will all be with him, only no longer as the people we are. When we are made anew that is when.

A wonderful lyric which never was a romantic song, it's frustrating to see how many people were deceived by the rhythm of that song, whereas its message never spoke about love between a man and a woman, but it has always spoken about a better love come from a better place where if it hasn't happened yet it's just because it's still in the Almighty God's powerful hands.

It is not downhill from wherever you are. It might feel so and it may truly appear to be so, but sometimes we our hearts need to crack open in order to brim over with light. How are you now my friend?

I first heard this song in the 1994 movie "Blown Away" with Jeff Bridges and Tommy Lee Jones, the arsonist/Irish Extremist bought a U2 tape while buying parts and supplies for his mission and then listened to it for the rest of the movie and it was his soundtrack. Don't know why it impacted me the way it did, but it did.

The mesmerizing tremors of this song's intro in concerts, always hooks my soul... I will always be a fan to the end. I hope they will tour again, if not this year, then the next. We who love them, are lucky to have them.

Watched it in 2021 ? ✨ I believe in the Kingdom come Then all colors will bleed into one. But I still haven’t found what I’m looking for. As a Christian people think life is easy for me because we have a hope, we know for sure we’re saved. This songs is how I actually experience Christianity; I’m still running to my guiding light, even when it’s not visible. Not knowing exactly what I’m gonna find but when I find it, it is were I was looking for.

My dad plays u2 so much I got annoyed of it. He went to 20 of their concerts in new Zealand and Australia, including used to having to climb the concert gates when he was a teen. However this song melody stays in my head. One of the catchy and amazing songs of u2.

I have always fealt this song was about Jesus dying for humanity’s sins &the journey of faith and love with Christ. As well as the things you personally will be disappointed with but that Christs love is the joy you ultimately experience when you realize what your looking for can’t be fulfilled by earthly things. The lyrics seem like a gospel song honestly. “I believe in the Kingdom Come Then all the colors will bleed into one Bleed into one But yes, I'm still running You broke the bonds And you loosed the chains Carried the cross of my shame, of my shame. You know I believe it.”
