Probably one of the greatest love stories of all time. When I hear the whole Celtic support sing 'Grace' it never fails to bring me to tears. That Rod Stewart, who has sung so many wonderful songs over the decades, chose to add this beautiful song to his catalogue, is testament to its all encompassing melody and profoundly moving lyrics. With thanks to those two lovely gentlemen for giving the world such a gift.

Grace .. another great Stewart interpretation of a great Folk song.Folk was Rod's first love and here he has found another Gem as usual by chance .This will echo round stadiums and arenas for years to come .. a show stopper which he comes up with regularly He can either have you tripping the light fantastic one minute or move you so strongly you can barely speak .The greatest on stage performer since Jolson and been at it over 50 years.Just do that Faces Reunion before you finish and we will all did happy!!

Absolutely love Rod steward he’s a one off , loved his reaction to being given the book & meeting the two men who wrote “Grace “ , but let’s NEVER. Forget Jim McCann’s version of Grace as well because it was phenomenal & his amazing balladeer voice suited this song so well & I’m sure even Rod would agree with me on this .... Rod is a great character & there aren’t enough like him in the music industry... Really enjoyed his interview..,, & Ryan it might b nicer to say “ now u knw ur in Ireland as opposed to just Dublin “ just saying because the audience were frm all over Ireland not just Dublin..

For anyone whose ancestors originate from the UK this song holds a lot of emotions☘️🌹❤️. Without even knowing Grace and John Plunkett personally it doesn't mean we weren't part of the tale💯. The first time I heard the song I wasn't shocked at all that John would get out of his bed and go to his friend Patrick's aid ☘️ as the Irish are so Noble like that. To be part of the Fighting Irish as they say and having several of the men act upon what they believed in AKA a cause again was not astonishing to me ☘️🎀☘️. What was astonishing though was how Grace never remarried.🎀 In my family many of my relatives only had one love❣️ for their one life but in her case, she was only married under an hour. It is just a fine song ❤️ sung beautifully by Rod Stewart and the lyrics just wraps the whole thing up into one big bow 🎀🎀

Rod was at Celtic Park with his kids on Mother’s Day Sunday 2019 and they played his version of Grace over the PA system. I’ve never heard a bad version of this song and it’s been covered by several artists. My favourite has to be full house at Celtic Park and listening to 60,000 people that know their history, they know the song and sing it with pride. Another super version Caoimhe (sp?) Mooney also sings this song beautifully.

The writers of songs rarely perform them, they get their buzz from capturing an idea on paper. It takes a different kind of person to stand on a stage craving adulation yet fearing public failure. Writers and performers do it for very different reasons. Both are creative in their own way. Each to his own, as long as the result is as beautiful as Grace, why worry?
