When its all said and done and everything’s in the mix I really couldn’t tell much difference between them all. How acoustically treated your room is and how you use your gear is honestly a lot more important and effective for quality vocals in my opinion. Great video, and what a cool little USB mic!
@SanjayC4 жыл бұрын
I agree. In a different mix, I think the Peluso would stand out, but maybe not worth all the extra cash! ;-)
@nathanksimpson4 жыл бұрын
I really wonder what the vocals would sound like in a different room. Listening to the VO for the video through headphones it certainly has a lot of "roomy" reverb, and I have to wonder if the mics were picking up that reverb. This might affect the overall sound/clarity/colour/tone?? Also When are you going to build a home vocal booth like Booth Junkie? :P

What a cool little mic! Very nice I’ll add something to the discussion: if you’re using a USB microphone, you’re not able to use the audio interface at the same time. That can actually really suck: I found that couldn’t use the built In headphone monitoring with the shock mount. They got in each other’s way. I also couldn’t output to my interface and input from the mic using drivers. It ended up causing serious driver issues, and even issues for my computer. If you have and are using an interface, based on my personal experience, I would HIGHLY recommend a mic that uses an XLR connector. It seems like a USB mic is more versatile, but I find that’s actually not true. That said, you can MTMYL with either! It’s about how you use it: if it’s your mic, it’s your mic, and you can still make what you want to
@SanjayC4 жыл бұрын
Lachlan...that's a really great point. I'm going to pin this comment so others can see. When you have an audio interface as well, you'll need to switch between the mic and audio interface all the time which can get annoying.

Agreed, started out with no knowledge and a USB mic but it gets quite annoying. Xlr is the way to go with music anyway!

If you are using a Mac, you should really look at rogueamoeba.com . There you can download the free software soundflower or buy Loopback. They are virtual audiodevices that you can route multiple interfaces to, so you do not need to switch back and forth. I am using both a Scarlett interface and a Expert Sleepers ES-8, and soundflower enables me to use both at the same time.

I have to say that this channel is quickly becoming one of my favs on KZbin. Extreeemely well done, superbly edited, awesome approach and just all around friendly. Now, just a question - if you use this mic on say a Mac; do I need to create an aggregate device for the mic to record it in my DAW or does it just pop up as an option on the audio track? I have been recording for a long time but until I heard of this mic, I have been avoiding USB mics. Big ups from Sweden. Stay safe and well.

Even with the gain set low, and the recording volume of the computer low, I would pick up my son watching TV in another room. No, my room is not conditioned as a studio. A Question if you are still looking at this feed. I purchased the Rode NT usb Mini, and i am trying to use it for a Zoom music jam with other people. Zoom is not the best for a group jam because only one person can be heard at once but thats another issue. If i have the Rode usb as the input mic to my laptop I can only hear the zoom audio through the headphone jack on the mic. If i try to put that headphone audio through the an external speaker i get feedback and i seem to only have the option of using the Rode USB Mini as the output feed from the computer and therefore only hear audio from the Rode Mini headphone jack... So i can't use the Rode mini through a speaker and can only get the feed through headphones from the mic jack. I called Rode and that seems to be the only option. Any thoughts about how you use the mic and my situation. I would love to use it for zoom music jams but through speakers so i don't have to use headphones.... Thanks for any ideas.

Hi, i buy Rode NT-USB Mini and im really amaze about Rode NT-USB Mini for Vocal Recording, but i have the problem with the Latency of the mic.. im recording my vocal with the beats, and when i playback it has a delay.. i already installed Asio4all, but it cant read the Rode NT-USB Mini... i wonder how you setup the mic with a low latency or zero latency.. thanks
