Yes it does sound good! No EQ and it sounded like you did EQ it, or a little low-pass filter like I do. The lapel mics aren't bad, actually, but the Rode is a noticable step up. Cool video!
@MatthewStratton6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the lapel mic definitely reduces a lot of the echo in the room and help isolate my voice (compared to have a mic on the camera). That NT1 though, super clear audio compared to any other mic in my studio at the moment.

I am a beginner. I have a Rode NTA-1 Condenser Mic and a Fishman Loudbox Artist Amp. I connect them with the XLR cable. I am not using an Audio Interface yet. I am just trying to sing direct into the Mic and get sound out through the Amp. I cannot turn my Gain past 9 and my Master Volume past 9 as you would look at a clock face with out it making the most horrendous high pitched noise and feedback. What am I doing wrong or not understanding. My Mic is situated close to the Amp. Thanks.

Super video! I’m getting one and also one debating between the Zoom L12 or the R24. I’d love to hear any thought on that! Thanks again!
@MatthewStratton3 жыл бұрын
It really depends on what you want to do. If you are going to record and do everything on just the recorder, I know the R24 has more tracks effects that you can use. L12 is limited to 12 tracks that you can see on the board and only 1 effect that you can use. The L12 is great for me to record onto and then transfer the audio from the SD card to the computer.

Hello, l have a couple questions. I'm thinking of getting the RODE NT1, l have a NT1A now but lm seeing that the NT1 might be better for me. 2 Questions. 1. I have a Focusrite scarlet 2i2 (2ND GEN) can the NT1 still be connected to this? 2. The XLR cable l have now that fits my NT1A into the focusrite, will it fit the NT1? or are the sizes different and l have to buy a certain XLR cable for it?

Hi, after going through your great reviews I finally purchased de Rode NT1 kit yesterday...but Rode has change the mount that comes with this kit silently from the SMR to the SM6! So the big selling point for the more expensive NT1 kit compared to the NT1-a kit has gone. So this review is no longer valid for the new (and only) available NT1 kit
@nlamste34 жыл бұрын
Hi, I did not purchase this at Amazon as it was sold out. But if you look at Rode.com you will see they changed the NT1 kit to SR6. Rode also confirmed this recent changes by mail directly to me.
@NVRLOSTT4 жыл бұрын
Mike van Amstel I've seen the NT1 on ebay, is this a bad place to buy it then?
@GFXuniverse4 жыл бұрын
That recent change is actually an upgrade for NT1 and big selling point is still the sound quality difference. With SM6, it looks way professional and you wont need to buy separate shock mount for “Top Address” dynamic microphones and the big plus point is that now they include XLR cable in the box. I am glad that I am getting this new one!

Hi, I'm a new subscriber here and I just bought the rode videomic ntg. Recording on my Nikon 750 to make drum videos. This ntg replaces my videomicro but it is a really hot microphone. Not sure if you've used the videomic ntg yet but I'm getting Distortion no matter how I record ( lowest gain settings with -20 DB and 10 feet away) . Just wondered if you had any suggestions or recommendations for better mics to use on a DSLR to record drums. I know it's not ideal setup but I'm just starting out. Any advice would be appreciated 👍

@MatthewStratton4 жыл бұрын
Zyon has a good question. Do you have phantom power activated? If it worked when you first used it, and now the audio is low, it may be a setting like phantom power. Also, make sure you don't have the high-Z button pushed if you are using input 2.
