Good mics last a long time through careers. Audio interfaces get changed all the time. Think of it like a Camera Body and Lens. The lens is more important, as it will go with you, while the body you'll Upgrade over time anyway. Plenty of affordable interfaces exist that can support the Procaster just fine and result in very high quality results.

They are really solid and yeah there are a bunch of interfaces that can work and a little impossible to mention them all but most interfaces will work with these.

Also one thing that I can also recommend is a inline pre-amp on a less expensive audio interface if it supports 48V phamtom power. My older audio interface was terrible above 85% in Windows. Problem was I had to increase it close to 100% to get enough gain. Now I can have it at 85% and the gain adjustment on the interface at 1/3 and the sound is crystcal clear..I used the sE DM1 Dynamite. Very good quality and comparlable to a Cloudlifter at a lower price. FetHead also makes a good quality inline amp as well.

Hey! What do you think better for voiceover(exp: for audiobooks). Audient Evo + Rode Podmic or Audient EvoRode + ProCaster ?
@Jacqie Жыл бұрын
For me the ProCaster does sound better and for recordings like Voice overs and Audio books it might make a big difference so I would say if you can spend more, then it is probably the better option

While I agree both mics are great. I own a PodMic ( It's built like a tank). I've tested the ProCaster as well and the difference in terms of audio quality between them is pretty massive to my ears. You are correct that live streaming you have a deminising return because of audio compression however the difference between them is still noticable. A good EQ curve will reduce the difference however my impression is that the PodMic is not picking up a lot of detail. It feels muted to my ears. The ProCaster feels much warmer, it picks up a lot more fine detail and is far less tinny to my ear. I recently purchased an EV RE320 (I saw a deal that I couldn't pass up) and I was floored how much of a difference this MIC made on my Twitch Streams. That mic is miles ahead of the podmic and is still better than the Procaster. It honestly feels like it has the detail of a Condensor mic in a Dynamic mic. It was such a massive amount that I was shocked. Anyhow I think if you are simply doing spoken word, either of them work well. Just wanted to chim in. I do enjoy your videos. Keep up the great content.

I have to agree here with you. I recently got the RodeCaster Pro II and the difference when you have a good interface and headset between the Podmic and Procaster is noticeable. I still stand by when streaming it is a little less and the moneh spent might not be worth it, but there is definitely a difference. That's awesome will have to give it a look and thanks for the compliment and I am glad you enjoy the videos

is behringer umc204hd preamp enough for ProCaster?
@Jacqie2 жыл бұрын
It should be enough yes. I haven't tested one yet but the preamps look good and it seems to have enough gain

I dunno you said the difference is marginal but the procaster sounded WAY better to me in the test

Dude you literally tested 2 different microphones in 2 different room environments. Second was empty or nearly empty you could literally hear the reflections.

On top of the effects and audio compression pretty much ruining the experiment lol, way too strong
