Bro, I'm so glad you finally reviewed this product - thx. However, you got something wrong with your recording options. When the transmitters are set to the stand-alone option, pressing the record button to stop and start from the transmitters is not the only way to record. You can also start and stop recording BOTH transmitters REMOTELY from the receiver. That, to me, is a very welcomed pleasure. Keep up the fantastic work in inspiring and informing us. :D

I think he missed a few things with this one including the 32 Gb storage capacity. The kit has proven to be very reliable at weddings for me.

These would’ve made me a MUCH better filmmaker if they existed when I first started - what a time to be alive, crazy good value for what they are (but from an Aussie company, are we even surprised…?!)

I actually love these as a full time wedding videographer! Albeit I don't use them how they were designed to be used haha. I've been using the Rode Go II for the past year and upgraded to the Pro last month and I use them as backup internal recorders. I put one (in a sleeve I got from etsy) on hand held mics during ceremonies and speeches etc and use the other as needed, maybe by a live musician, or with a lav mic on the groom or a guest who might be speaking. I never ever use the wireless transmitter, mainly because it interferes with celebrants mics as they often use bluetooth mics and speakers. It's an expensive backup but I don't know of any other small mics with in built 32 bit float recording that also have the flexibility these have, well worth their price in my opinion. My main source of audio is my Tascam X8 plugged into either a soundboard or back of speaker, and my main backup is a Tascam DR10L pro on the celebrant, but sometimes those aren't an option and having a Rode Go Pro ready to record internally without lavs and cables is so handy! And in some cases I prefer to use this audio over the X8 because it gives a more natural sound with ambient noise and guests laughing etc.
@donniekane0057
@donniekane0057 10 ай бұрын
wait! so since they record internally without the need for a transmitter, they wont cause interference with wireless microphones?? Im having issues with interference when using a sleeve on the wireless mic with my audio recorder and the transmitter on my camera and i wasnt sure how to work around this.

But if you need timecode, you will need the receiver connected to each transmitter, I believe.

What I like about the Rode Wireless Pro system is that the receiver easily connects to my Blackmagic ATEM Mini, which is perfect for capturing the audio for live streams. Plus I get 32-bit internal audio recording as a backup. Looks like a winner. Pair that with my Sennheiser lav mic for better quality and I'm all set :)

Although you can’t monitor, there is nothing better than hitting record and locking the F2 recorder and not worrying about levels, audio, connection. For corporate work, yes. These are great. For weddings, I’ll stick with the F2.

Ya the clips are totally junk!! I broke one off the first time I put the mic in the clip. I paid $500 Canadian and was hugely upset with the 50 cent clips!!! I ordered extras. Otherwise I am happy with the system

If you need more than 6-7 hours of continuous filming, just buy 2 Rode wireless pro sets? You would have backup in any scenario. And it’s cheapest option.

Cant decide whether to sell my DJI wireless mics and get these. plus sides are the 32 bit recording and lavs but downsides is the size and plugging it into the computer to change settings

The lav clips are terrible on these. Not sure why Rode changed them. Also, you don't need to change modes on a PC. You can do it on the receiver itself.

As someone who's been using the Wireless Go II's and now the Wireless Pro professionally for weddings for the past 3 years I hate to see your negative connotation on these (I get it, you're a Tascam DR10 boi for life) BUT - the wireless pro is such a fantastic system for wedding videographers! Just, have to learn how to love all the quirks and make them work well for your workflow. I just dropped a video on the practical use case for Rode Wireless Pro as a wedding videographer with nothing but positive things to say - so, I get it.

Hey Ross! I thought I was pretty positive aside from the need to plugin the transmitters to change some of the settings and wishing the battery life was longer. Sorry if I didn't come across that way. I watched your video a while ago about using the Wireless Go as essentially remote trigger-able standalone recorders and I really enjoyed it.

Dear Sir, Greetings.Thanks for your great video. Please guide me , regarding the use of Rode Wireless PRO, as wireless hands free mic for public address for mega church meetings etc. where preacher and interpreter stands together with their mobiles etc. 1) Rode Wireless PRO being GHz,will our mobiles,wi-fi etc.interfear with it's signals, so that the voice gets affected? 2) Can Rode Wireless PRO receiver be connected directly to the sound amplifier or is it possible only through a mixer ?

No one is talking about how, if you actually want to order this product (like I just did last week) it's on backorder. With no indication of when it will be available! That's a bit frustrating for a product that's in high demand. Do you have any communication with them? Do you have any idea of when this will be available again?

I've been looking so HARD for a concealer for undershirt. The original one you could tape over since the mic points up. But with this mic the mic faces outward and so brushes against the shirt when it is underneath the shirt. And you can't tape over the mic. Have you found any solutions for it?

The awful lav mics on these are a deal breaker for me. I'm glad someone finally touched on them in their review. I ended up giving up the new features of this Wireless Pro version and returning it. I went back to my reliable Wireless Go II system with their awesome lav mics. Yes, I prpbably could have purchased replacement lav mics for the Pro, but that would have been an additional cost.

I would probably have stuck with the Pros for the locking lav mic connector and 32 bit float personally.
@delsarcade
@delsarcade 11 ай бұрын
@@whoismatt No sense in a locking connector when the Mic itself pops off it's mount though. :-/ (It kept doing it when I used it at least.). Deal breaker. But I'm hopeful: Maybe Rode will release a more basic Pro version sans the lav mics. Then we can just buy our own.

I was gunning to snag a pair, but shot a wedding just before I was about to when - dun dun dunnnn - the Rode Wireless Go II caused interference with the ceremony microphone. I went with the F2BT. Having a no interference option used in combination with the wireless gives me a ton more flexibility. I wear a tin foil hat with wedding audio, though - generally running 4-5 backups and still feel like I could always do a little bit more to get even better audio lol.

You can definitely use Rode Wireless Go II (& Wireless Pro!) without the wireless directly to the camera. They're still phenomenal recorders without using the wireless function!
@calebfortune
@calebfortune 11 ай бұрын
@@RossBarnett02 Yeah, but monitoring/recording audio wireless is the primary function of them (or they would be called Rode Go? Maybe Rode Record?). Tool for the job and all that. I've already experienced some corruption issues with the Go II's when just recording internally and overly relying on them after that would be irresponsible. A dedicated recorder like an F2 or F3 or even the larger recorders seems more appropriate for what I've encountered on shoots to both get the benefit of a quality recording and remain flexible for the complex issues you can have on wedding shoots - like a DJ who's using a board from 1974, compensating for Mic level vs Line level or a directly conflicting and finnicky mic system. When some couples are just "getting a friend to DJ", it's on us to have solutions for every single eventuality. Having the wireless to run as the output from a different 32 bit float device has since fixed all interference while lending the benefit of monitoring the audio (and semi simplified syncing). I'll still always strap a voice recorder to mics to curb the sweats that comes with a distorted father of the bride's speech.
@RossBarnett02
@RossBarnett02 11 ай бұрын
@@calebfortune Understandable on the DJ boards. I love my F3 - & as a wireless go II user for the last 2 years and now a wireless pro user - they're great. I use wireless Pro for lavs paired with a Zoom F3 out the board as my workflow for years. The F2's are awesome though - so, that's the joy of technology and competition in the industry. Phenomenal products for the consumers.
@calebfortune
@calebfortune 11 ай бұрын
@@RossBarnett02 For sure. If Tascam or Zoom drop a more direct competitor to the wireless pro, but with a bit more tactile flexibility (micro sd port, hard switches for killing wireless, or other elevated features) I would be on it in a heartbeat and keep my Go II as a second shooter set. Trying to stay out of the hit record and squeeze my cheeks hoping nothing changes world, but still get the best quality lol
