it's kinda bittersweet for me seeing Rod in his younger days, my late husband was his double. everybody used to say how much he looked like Rod. the irony was my husband didn't like the comparison. he used to say 'no Rod looks like me' i liked it though!

One thing I've never seen in these vintage videos since they became available virtually to anyone, thanks to globalization, is an honest comment as "hey that's me asking for the autograph!"

Looking at Rod and Brit's relationship, he looks like he's already looking for a way out.

She seemed pretty humorless, can't blame him. She took herself far too seriously at this point. It bordered on embarrassing.

For it being a film about Rod, all she did was talk about herself the entire way through...

She liked to be in the forefront. 🙄 Rod did seem to throw a bit of a bored vibe in this video. He probably loved being seen with a glamorous Bond girl initially and no doubt he loved her in the beginning but it must be hard to keep the magic going especially when your a high profile rock star. Temptation is always there.

Rod looked bored. With so many girls chasing after him at the time, I suppose other women were intriguing to him. Wasn't going to be long before he was unfaithful.

I remember watching this when it was first aired on TV and Brit saying that about her fans. My mum grunted.....I didn't know she had any.😂. Mum had a point. The girls in the airport lounge and the boys in Trafalgar Square all asked Rod for his autograph. They didn't ask Britt.

When things are rolling along as peachy as they no doubt were for Rod at this point in his life, a guy would have to occasionally pinch himself... and sometimes wonder, why me? and what's gonna happen when my luck finally dries up.

Rod had once been a great singer/performer but the sort of pratt he turned into made many turn to more authentic bands like The Sex Pistols.

Britt Ekland comes off as arrogant but I think it's down to lack of confidence; she must have had a gut feeling that her relationship with Rod was precarious; I seem to feel her vulnerability in this documentary.

There are some famous rock stars who have stayed with the same girl throughout their lives because they have always been in love with her, have never been unfaithful and are happy to come home to her after touring but they are few and far between. Britt said it took her five years to get over Rod but he abruptly left Dee Harrington for Britt so she must have thought to herself there was a strong possibility he might one day do the same to her. Britt said she called time because Rod was unfaithful. Whether she was in fact the one to end the relationship or not, I don't suppose he was too bothered.

I think Rod was in love with the whole image of dating an international movie star and Bond girl more than he was in love with Britt herself. Pity because they did look good together.

"This is '69. I prefer '66 myself, but if you have to drink Dom Perignon..." 10.59. It makes you realise what ignorant robots we all are. This was not long after the Biafra war. That stupid woman had no idea of how much suffering there was in the world. I wonder what she'd prefer if she were on a train in 1943?

I think Rod Stewart was/is one of the greatest singers of our time, a great interpreter of song... but he irks me terribly badly... after seeing a whole lot of interviews and reading his biography, he strikes me as perhaps one of "The shallowest men ever to have walked the earth", totally hollow human being. I definitely wouldn't want to meet him... and Brit Eckland makes me want to vomit.
