Back in the early days of rock music it was played on the radio air waves a lot. In the last 50 years of radio free music a whole hell of a lot more of music has been released so now days there's a lot more music competition. There for competition means way less radio air time for all songs. mass competition creates way less radio play for all bands. Back in the early 1970's Rod Stewart and Faces was hot rockin' music. Hell even the Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Doors etc. music isn't heard no where near as much. It'd called COMPETITION.

Yep, the past and the future only exist in your mind. We experience the eternal moment of "now" . Everything happens at the same time...
@Candolad3 жыл бұрын
@@Herefornow-571 they're my philosophical thoughts. I imagine that our external world is far too great and complex for our mind to absorb so our brains filter out probably 90% of it and separate it into the past (45%), now (5%) and the future (45%). Perhaps when we die we become part of the "all" that exists across the whole universe when we are then capable of accessing the "everything" that exists as "now".
@whitepearl86393 жыл бұрын
Our mind only works 20 % of all dont dream over the dogs are better that we are ....aahh
@JeffRebornNow3 жыл бұрын
Tennessee was quite correct, life is all memory, and my Western mind can't grasp the concept of "the eternal now" that Eastern religions say the enlightened man exists in. Although for the last decade of his life my father "suffered" (?) from senile dementia and all he pretty much had was "the now," he was never happier in his life. He loved each new moment that came at him and he seemed to be completely free of resentments and anxiety. Should we all jettison our pasts and try to become as senile as possible? Would this bring us closer to nirvana? To me this state has a merely negative attraction, and does not seem to heighten one's pleasure. I am sure I've had wonderful sex while completely drunk -- that is, the feelings of pleasure that occurred during the act and the sudden release of tension brought about by orgasm were probably as intense and physically satisfying as any sex I've had while sober, but I would never categorize as great this drunken sex because I can't remember it, and I have none of the pleasures attendant in recall that I have when thinking about good sexual experiences I had while sober. And I certainly can't masturbate to acts that I can't remember. A great bit of the pleasure that resides in our experiences seems to be dependent upon our being able to recall them, and we often hope that we can remember vividly such experiences. We even go to great lengths to mentally record such experiences while they are happening so as to be able to recall them in the future. For instance, we stare into a lover's eyes so as to fix them in memory. I can't even imagine how we can call any experiences pleasurable or unpleasurable if we can't remember them. If someone were to ask me, "Were you a happy baby?" I would have to reply, "I don't know whether I was or not. I can't remember being a baby, but my mother recalls how I responded to the world, and other than having a bout of colic, she says I was very happy." So it seems to me that the disappearance of regret and worry is a sad trade off for the negation of all memory. Or have I got it all wrong? Is it merely that we are supposed to get over our resentments and regret while not actually forgetting the experiences that occasioned such feelings? Is it merely a shift in perspective that will free us from being prisoners of our past and propel us toward spiritual enlightenment and allow us to reside perpetually in some untrammeled now? If so, how do we achieve such a shift?

I read down through 50 or 60 comments on this video and sadly found only one mention of the co-writer of this song and Maggie May.... the very talented, but extraordinarily shy Martin Quittenton. That's him in this video, sitting and playing acoustic guitar, barely able to make eye contact, even with his friends (the band), much less the audience or the camera. I must agree this was a very tight and talented band. I saw this line up in Long Beach, Ca. in 1971 , still one of the best shows I ever saw.... right, Mary Lou ?

Such a clever, beautifully constructed song, from the long ago days when such songs made Number 1.

Simply one of the greatest pop songs ever written or recorded.always overshadowed by Maggie..Can you believe he wrote the lyrics whilst recording it?..That was him and the Faces..always unselfconscious..not even knowing how brilliant they were!

What a great song! I’ve loved it ever since it came out, and now, I share my love of the Faces with my punk rock daughter. She can see the connection between early Rod Stewart and the Faces and punk. I love that🤘

I'm sure loads of people would do it for free,just for the experience

@Stork Legs how do I know what the bill was? All I know is that most bellboy DON'T earn $300 in tips a day,with their wages they be on like $90/100 000 a year if they did and that sint half bad!
