I'd like to see Soundwave and the seekers for the Decepticons. It'd be interesting to see if they tackle ol' Megs. They'd have to reengineer him from the ground up since guns are a no no. Since we got two Primes, why not a more cartoon accurate Bumblebee as well? Anyways, glad you liked it. I feel like a kid with mine.

It's funny that, while he can achieve the pose on the original box art, he ironically can't achieve the pose on the new one due to his limited waist swivel. It's nice that retailers are regularly stocking him, even if there are windows of unavailability, so people who missed out can have another chance.

I got them both and it is worth getting the other one for the trailer because roller has been modified where he has the little red light or you can flip over that back portion and he has the port where you can put the fuel line or the gun in. Also the battle part of the trailer will come out of the trailer on wheels. Unfortunately this means that no longer launches roller like it used to. However it does come with missiles that still fire spring loaded like the original. And the Matrix colors are brighter gold Zach Metalized gold

One thing I really liked is that earthrise/kingdom Prime can hold the energon axe. Having them standing next to each other looks great.

Never knew this was something I needed till they announced it…and they delivered big time. Just an awesome thing to have and mess with, particularly if you had the original as a kid. I went with the toon version too….just couldn’t justify paying the higher price for yet another trailer with my favorite feature removed.

Missing Link as a toy line I thought we would never get and yet Takara-Tomy pulled it off, and to start off with a spectacular reinvention of G1 Optimus Prime wether it’s toy accurate or anime/cartoon accurate is one of those moments where you could easily shed a tear at a dream come true.

Congrats on getting C-02! I prefer C-02, despite not having all the extra stuff that C-01 comes with. IMO, less is more. Why? It's cartoon accurate! The style on the head alone is magnificent! C-02 is the version we should have had in 1984. Don't get me wrong... C-01 Is awesome! I don't need it if I already have like 3 OG and two 2004 reissues. I just swiped one of my 2004 reissue trailers and paired it with C-02. Good idea on placing the yellow bumper stickers. Those are a must!

I ordered the toy colored version since that was what I grew up with as a kid. I DO like the animation versions matrix chamber though.

I got the C-01 and it's awesome. I'm guessing they'll do Soundwave eventually since he's bulkier and can take the added articulation and stuff. Much as I'd love a(nother) Starscream, not sure the Seekers would work well, especially adding articulated hands someplace. MP-52 likely remains the ultimate Starscream, but this here is the ultimate Prime. G1, articulated...excellent job.

It is as you described. It’s the toy we imagined as we played with it as kids. It does have limitations but not many. It’s a blast to pose around and looks very good on the shelf. It’s an instant favorite. He’s posing up with all sorts of toys like 3 3/4” Snake Eyes, Origins He-Man, and Megablox Turtles minifigs as an example. I need to find my C-3PO and R2 to add to the mix. I’m debating Misssing link Bumblebee and Cliffjumper. I’m not sure about those. If they made Jazz or Soundwave I’d jump on those. Cliffjumper with that bazooka is almost enough for me to preorder. I’m still debating. Prime is awesome. No way in hades Megatron get the same treatment.

They rereleased him with the oval quad headlamp assembly, which helps to confirm G1 OP as a 1976-79 Freightliner FLT cabover tractor truck. The square dual headlamps of the toon/MP-44 were never realistic. And the rectangular quad lights of the MP-10 mold didn't actually drop until mid-1984, years after the G1 Wave 1 toy designs were already locked in as Diaclones. He still has the raised, skinny vertical mold blocks on the sides under the silver stripes on the doors, which I believe are meant to replicate the early vertically-oriented door latches. (In 1980 these latches were turned horizontally.) The bottom front and rear corners of the doors are still squared off, which confirms 1976-79; and not rounded, as seen in the 1980-84 body style. The cab has the molded details of an FLT9664T, but Takara shrunk the size of the cab forward toward the windshield so the back of the cab lined up with the bot elbows, and this gives the cab the proportions of a smaller FLT8664T. The 86 would probably deliver better-looking proportions in bot mode, but the 96 might allow enough room to squeeze a Matrix in there behind the seats in real life! In the original Takara TF identification number system, 01 was for Convoy, and 02 was for Hound. It's a little confusing that they changed that, here.

Only OG G1 toys I ever got was Grimlock and Snarl. I wasn't able to catch that many episodes of the morning toons so it wasn't the Big Deal for me (Japanese anime like Gundam & Macross were our thing as new immigrants to Canada). So the appeal of this line is not as great for me. But if TT comes up with a brand new ML Megatron, I'll get 2 faction leaders, as I can't see me collecting the whole line, it's too expensive.
