Nah...Starscream is too unstable. Megatron is just as power hungry but he's collected and knows how to better use the power he takes. Starscream let's power go to his head too quickly. I think its partly because he is sooo insecure. He just gets in over his processor.

Great work. -When it comes to other Decepticons wanting leadership over the Decepticons, Shockwave from ther Marvel comics and most famous of all Starscream, comes to mind. I'm sure there are others who wanted to dethrone Meagtron, but how come Soundwave doesn't go for it. Not in the dethroning way because he's loyal, but when Megatron (similar to the G1 movie) no longer functions. He would be a better replacement then Starscream. Back when I first started watching you, I remember hearing "Underbase Powered Starscream" as "under base-powered Starscream", "base power" being Starscream's default power level, and I thought "How could someone who's WEAKER than their normal form kill off so many Transformers? As for the question, well, there has been proof that he can wield great power (the Underbase in Marvel G1, the Creation Matrix in Marvel G2, etc.), so I guess he could wield it, but the price would be his sanity being completely obliterated, so he is destined to fail in his quest for power.

Once, I found a translation of a manga known as “Mazinger Z vs The Transformers”. As the title implies, it’s about the Transformers getting transported into the world of the first piloted mecha, Mazinger Z. Around the end of Chapter 4 out of 6, Starscream upgraded himself with some of Mazinger’s discarded parts in order to gain its attacks and ability to utilize “photon particles” in order to make himself stronger. However, “Mazinscream” couldn’t handle his newfound power, and he went unstable rather quickly. Before he could wipe out everyone, Underbase saga style, all of the Transformers, along with Koji Kabuto and his allies, teamed up to take him out. This counts as a tribute to the Underbase for me, since in certain spin-off materials for Mazinger Z, such as Shin Mazinger ZERO and Mazin Saga, photon particles are capable of some CRAZY things, such as time travel, nuking cities, and even reality warping!

I would LOVE to see a comic or cartoon where Starscream and Megatron realize they are in a deadlock and instead go into see a Marriage and Family Therapist. In the room the therpist starts dragging out all their combined issues such as: Megatron leaves S.S. feeling unheard S.S. leaves Megs with the impression that his leadership has been taken for granted They feel more like roommates than battle-commanders which has left them each feeling distant from the other. S.S feels jealous of Arcee and it turns out Megs has a crush on her They have both been staying together for the sake of the Stunticons So at this point the Therapist then has them do an assignment to rekindle their partnership: No other Decepticons on datenight. Only Megs and S.S. go out to Earth every Tuesday, drink Energon and vaporize humans hiking in the woods. It reminds them what they liked about the other in the 1st place. they also learn to communicate better: Megs compliments S.S. on treachery towards Autobots . S.S. compliments Megs on Energon-axing Cliffjumper straight down the middle. They both set boundaries. Instead of S.S. attempting a Coup de'tat he learns to use his words. And when Megatron is mad he no longer Energon-axes Cliffjumper but instead tells S.S. whats bothering him. Come On Simon Furman, make it happen!!!!! p.s. if Starscream can find the spirit of Christmas this idea is way more reasonable!

Power itself isn't really inherently corruptive outside of evil fantasy macguffin stuff. Corruption comes from the people wielding power incorrectly, not the power itself. I find stories more interesting when they really explore how people handle power in a way that make it clear it's their choices that determine how well they handle it instead of just having people go mad because Power and leaving it at that. In a lot of ways common sayings like that can be detrimental to exploring deeper nuances of a topic.
