Just to correct you on one thing. In the IDW comics Megatron did not keep Starscream alive just to torture him (though I suppose that could be seen as an inadvertent downside for Screamer). He keeps him around as a constant reminder to be on alert if he wishes to remain leader of the Decepticons. For if Starscream is willing to betray him, so can any one of his other soldiers.

I love how Soundwave continuously looks around as everyone enters the Nemesis except for Megatron. It seems as though he was in a state of confusion and worry. I Don't think Iv ever seen megatron this angry before, sure in instances like the 1986 movie he disintegrated starscream, and in prime he would often beat starscream into submission, but there he at least kept his cool and spoke a few words either mocking starscreams situation or yell at him but here he just came in fuming and beat him to death without saying a word , the silence really shows that he didn't want a monologue of how starscream failed to kill him he wanted him dead. I kinda get why. From his POV, Megatron was wounded, yet still trying to rally his troops. The darkest one is when Megatron comes back from a three year come to see how the deceptions resorted to cannibalism under Starscream's rule and wanted to beat the "living spark out of him" only to find a depressed and shriveled Starscream in the throne room. When Megatron realized beating him for sport wasn't gonna work he starts to belittle him to the point where Starscream begs for death. But Megatron only beats him, smashing his face to pulp over and over again telling him that he won't kill him because keeping him alive is a worst punishment than death.

Though gotta say, Prime Starscream often got unwarranted beatings and despite often trying to be capable and somewhat skilled at leadership, Megatron's treatment really hurt his psyche and is pretty abusive. Cyberverse beatdown is downright brutal, the only real reason why is somewhat bearable is that at least Cyberverse Starscream is flat out a terrible individual from all accounts. I like to think the reason why Cyberverse Starscream is so downright evil and nasty is because Prime Starscream was occasionally more sympathetic than expected that it often felt the beatings were too much, whereas Cyberverse is a direct answer to that just to soften the punch a little.

This was really the last straw for megatron he had enough of starscream and truly made an example of what happens to all who oppose his rule xx

Logic says No. But I like to think of it as a call back to G1. There's an episode where Starscream thinks Megatron is dead. But when hearing his voice through the comms he says: "Megatron! You're still alive!" Which Megatron replies: "Don't sound so pleased" Megatron knows he isn't, and hates him for it anyway.

I think what scares me the most about this entire sequence, is that, aside from grunts and yells of fury, Megatron is stone-dead *silent.* He wasn’t fucking around with this at all. As far as he was concerned, Starscream was scrap metal, and if it took longer for his spark to go out, *so be it.*

But here, none of that. He's actively trying to murder starscream and he doesn't hold back. He wants starscream dead.

The utter SILENCE with which Megatron beats Starscream to death is what really emphasizes how utterly DONE he is with his treacherous subordinate, but I can't help but recall the lines of an entirely different Megatron during this scene. "I can tolerate your treachery...BUT NOT YOUR INCOMPETENCE!!! ... Treachery requires NO mistakes." It's a pity Megatron didn't think to crush Starscream's spark chamber or brain module before leaving the Moon, though. Would've saved everyone some serious trouble in the long run.
