One of the best songwriters/singers of my generation. So many have had hits with his songs and it's easy to see why. His songs are jewels and poetry in motion. But I love his versions and voice. Love this video, and still get a kick at seeing Tony Brown at the piano, making those evil faces of his!

Can't believe this song was written in 1990. Musicians back then actually had such a desire to create amazing music and melody as this song than compared to the musicians we have today. Now it's all just about sex, money, and drugs. Such a shame.

And drinking! Can't forget that, because every other song is "I'm great at drinking beer...let's go drink beer...want a beer?...My life is beer."
@MrHmg552 жыл бұрын
@@ALLOUTWildlife And the others are about whiskey! To be fair, country music has always had drinking songs, but songwriters today seem to plug "whiskey" and "beer" into just about every song -- along with "back roads" and "truck." Must be part of a formula they know will get songs on the radio.

mosrite60 yes they do make a killer team. Also Rodney Cromwell has written a lot of number 1 songs. from the Oak Ridge boys, Tim McGraw, George Strait etc now you know why he called the "Jewel of the South". I think this song was written when him and Roseanne Cash were divorcing.

I don't like country music- never did- make no apologies about it- I grew up listening to the classic oldies & early rock'n roll. Buddy Holly, Everly Brothers, Beatles, & Roy Orbison. My BFF was about 3 years younger than me & we spent all our free time at her house. She had every tape this guy made & she played them till I asked who it was; & told her his voice sounded like a happy Roy Orbison. She made me a mixtape, which I still have even though it doesn't play. I miss the 1980's & being young. I miss good tunes & true artists. I miss my best friend. I really miss her. But I still don't like country music. Xoxo CDC
