@@Phillip-y6d - he did, and so was Robin Williams. Both guys had a lot of issues behind the scenes, in their private lives, and they stil could make other people laugh. Pure pros to the end, enven considering what was going on in their private lives at some moments, and during making of some movies. Much respect here. edit: spelling and so on...

True, but at his passing there was very little mention of his death. I'm not sure if it was a gag of the media that Rodney Dangerfield didn't get no respect even at death, but I thought it was truly disrespectful and just low that not even Entertment Tonight didn't have a special segment of Rodney Dangerfield s career. Regardless, he is a true legend.

Something about the way he keeps adjusting his tie is so hilarious to to me. Like he’s pretending to be nervous, or something. It’s a fake nervous tick. And he knows exactly what he’s doing. Just adding artificially to the tension of his ongoing horror stories. It’s absolute genius.

What's really great about Rodney is the fact you can watch a performance, like this one, come back a few years later like I did, and you'll be laughing all over again as if it was new material. I usually don't realize I've heard it before until after he completes the punch line. And while I'm laughing I realize I've heard this zinger before. He was simply great!

We all recognize that great is great. Classic. Perfect, even. Two towering legends not getting in each other’s way with egos and stupid remarks. It is April, 2022 and bittersweet to watch Johnny and Rodney knowing how far we have fallen as a nation and world. We need humor and greatness to return in every facet of our lives.

I think Rodney loved to take risks. Isn't the rumor that Johnny Carson was a severe alcoholic? I know his real life wasn't nearly as fun and lighthearted as his show. He was a great show host but apparently his person life was a shambles. Divorces, fighting, drama, etc.
@thewoofamily8951
@thewoofamily8951 6 жыл бұрын
PS I Don't think Rodney would have been poking at Johnny, his host. He wouldn't mock him by making fun of alcoholics. Like many who suffer to this day, a lot of alcoholics NEVER show up to work drunk so the coworkers simply do not know that the person is getting drunk every day as soon as they get off work.

I saw him on Christmas Eve approximately 30 years ago at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Vegas can be a very tough crowd for performers. He had the audience eating out of his hand. Right off he starts out, I'm doing ok now, but last week it was really rough.... and away he goes. If I recall correctly he was on for about an hour and forty five minutes. I can't even begin to guess how many jokes he told. NONE of them fell flat. The crowd was laughing their assess off at his jokes. Some of them I knew the punchline on, but it didn't matter hearing them again. EX: I told my old man, you never took me to the zoo. He said, if they want you, they'll come get you. There will NEVER be another Rodney Dangerfield.
