Back when politicians of different parties could have a good time together. Those days are gone.

Nah. Rodney's jokes were the best; they did NOT need musical punctuation!

I like to sit people my age down and show them Rodney. Due to differences in culture and comedy it always starts out as lukewarm 'yeah, that's pretty funny', but as sure as the sun sets the second they get past the 5 minute mark, they're chuckling from the last zinger and then losing their marbles for the next one. Rodney's true power was slowly ramping up the mirth until he could be reading a phonebook and people would still be wetting themselves. Most comedians lean on explosive bursts of absurdity, but Rodney was the absolute master of the slow burn.

Johnny says I would never hit someone with a cake unless it was planned. Then he moved the cake, probably because he knew that Rodney was thinking, hey I never said anything like that.
