Actually most of the cast have a lot of nonsense going on, we can tell from a lot of their on screen banters and references to other shows/movies, like Sheppard calling Ronan 'Chewy' cos off screen they mocked Jason as Chewbacca etc.. So many different personalities, they are a hilarious bunch. I wonder how they even complete filming one episode sometimes

I love how SGA had the same "core" than SG-1, but managed to have his own. The relationship between John & Rodney or Ronon & Rodney is nothing like Jack & Daniel or Teal'c & Daniel/Sam, yet there's still the same strong bond. I only wish Rodney and Ronon shared more moments together.

I really forgot how awesome SGA is. I mean, I have this massive love-affair with SG1, nothing tops how everything just worked for SG1 for so long. But the chemistry in SGA is just something else. It's not often a sequel to another show is this good in its own right, especially when the original show leaves such big shoes to fill. Probably the only thing that surpasses the SG1+SGA cinematic universe is something like Doctor Who

I loved SGA more because the characters were all significantly flawed. Rodney was extremely arrogant, Sheppard does not follow the chain of command, and Ronon had deep hatred for the wraith and traitors. Their characters were more significant especially when they learn about the true nature of the Ancients and their arrogance in allowing the Wraith to swarm the galaxy. Plus the battles and tech were so much cooler.

Babylon 5's character dynamics surpass it. Also if you like the Stargate Humor and character dynamics, check out Farscape. Same humor, similar character dynamics, and 2 of the same actors as in SG-1's late seasons (Ben Browder and Claudia Black - and they're both way better in Farscape than on SG-1)

Jokes about over eating always seemed a bit disingenuous coming from ronon who was on the run for 7 years and probably had a bunch of near misses with starvation tbh I'm pretty sure though the writers probably had a list of funny banter that they tried to sprinkle in at at My opportunity though and as a maker of bad dad jokes I can't really fault that

To be fair though, gorging is a bad idea, gaining weight from excessive eating makes you slow and easy pickings. Food that doesn't serve survival but just yourself, I can see how Ronon would make that comment.

@@metalzonemt-2 I didn't say she was superficial. I saw that there was an attraction between Jennifer and Ronon and then she decides she likes Rodney better, but no reason was given. The character of Ronon was a decent, brave man with a good heart, someone who was loyal and could see the truth in people and strategize. Rodney was in his own words petty, arrogant and a bit of a geek. I didn't see too many redeeming characteristics in Rodney, except his brainiac side (but see the 'arrogant' comment above). Keller was smart too, but I guess as a woman I don't see Rodney's smarts outweighing his flaws.

@@christinemusselman5499 Well I'm not a woman so I can't really say why she likes him. I can only try to guess. "Petty, arrogant and a bit of a geek." That's being honest. Like the other Rodney from Alternate universe said something like "you don't care whether other people like you or not". And for a geek, he's pretty bad ass, (like the other SG-geek, Daniel Jackson). He goes wherever the rest of the team goes. I also think he became little bit nicer after he made up with his sister. (I could be imagining)

@@christinemusselman5499 I agree with you but also sometimes you just care about someone because of indescribable bonds/attraction. Also, Rodney was also a nice guy deep down. He just had trouble showing it.
