John and Rodney are just one of those perfectly written Odd Couple pairs. Both actors play off each other so well that it's always a joy to watch their interactions. And how they will stand by each other when things look bad shows they are bros too. SG‐1 and Atlantis were both great character driven shows.

Yeah, nothing really comes close to the quality of Sg1 and Atlantis still. No disrespect to The Expanse, but I really hate the visual style of that show. Too much sci-fi is grim dark or filled with actors who have zero chemistry. I like star trek strange new worlds for example, but not a single character pairing on that entire show comes close to Rodeny and Sheppard, or Vala and Daniel, etc. That extends to the rest of cast in each show; they bounce off eachother so organically and you just dont see that anymore.

So cute. McShep was the whole reason to watch SGA. Joe and David played off each other beautifully. M&M ruined that with the introduction of Staite and pushing Rodney into a relationship with a Doctor that wanted to do nothing but change who he was (after she o obviously had a thing with Ronon). Then there was less McShep moments - whether you saw them as slashy, or just bromance, and that added to the decline in viewing, which gave M&M their reason to focus solely on the shit show that was SGU and let SGA die. Such a shame that they refused to let Flanigan buy the rights to SGA so he could continue it.

Overall I thought SG-1 had better chemistry than the Atlantis team but McKay and Shepard almost managed to make up for that single handedly. Not quite enough but their bromance saved the Pegasus galaxy on more than one occasion.

I think part of the issue is that stuck 2 stoic characters onto the team; Ronon and Teyla. I like both characters, but meant that a lot of the important character stuff fell squarely on Sheppard and McKay when they were offworld. Having Beckett around certainly helped, but then they doc fraiser'd him for no reason.

I honestly don't give the writers a lot of credit when it comes to that stuff, but that scene from Doppleganger DEFINITELY reads that way, IMO. How else is the viewer supposed to take that statement? It's like John is even saying himself, "Wow, I really thought I was hetero, but I guess not so much." Also, he's got such an awkwardness with the hugs he gets from Elizabeth and Teyla, so yeah, I definitely see him as something other than just straight. (Thanks for watching and commenting :)

Well, there's also his asking Ronin if he's seeing any girls or guys. And then there's the time he and Ronin go to John's father's funeral and John introduced Ronin as a civilian contractor. John's brother gives him this look that says, "um... yeah. because you'd totally bring a co-worker to a funeral and not a boyfriend."
