The All Blacks are on a 15 match winning run and closing in on the world record for most consecutive wins, but during their match in Rustenberg with South Africa their normally reliable and dependable number 8 Rodney So'oialo has a nightmare game costing them the match.
0:00 - Rodney So'oialo costs the All Blacks 3 early points by coming into a ruck from the side.
0:28 - Then So'oialo flung a telegraphed intercept pass straight to Bryan Habana. The conversion was added. So'oialo had now cost the All Blacks 10 points.
0:46 - So'oialo then was judged to have obstructed the Springbok defence as Andrew Hore went over to score, which was needless and could have been prevented had So'oialo binded on properly to Hore. Now 17 points So'oialo has cost the All Blacks.
1:21 - Despite this the All Blacks still retake the lead into the dying minutes, but then So'oialo recklessly charged into the side of the ruck straight in front of the referee and the Springboks got awarded a penalty and André Pretorius then kicked it over to win the match for them 21-20, and So'oialo had cost the All Blacks 20 points.
This loss ended a 15 game winning run, and if So'oialo hadn't had a nightmare in Rustenberg in this game then they would have gone onto break the record international rugby winning streak and would have extended it to 24 wins.

A view from Wales- here we tend to think anyone who gets to wear an AB shirt has to be very impressive. He was a fine player overal, this comes as a shock. Maybe we admire the ABs just a bit too much for our own good but there you have it. Wales is good at rugby for a small country, New Zealand is tremendous for its population. Wales should concentrate as hard on beating the ABs as beating England. I also think NZ looks like a beautiful country, and i have the impression it has plenty of good people, and like Wales with plenty of sheep. If i had a hat i would doff it. It may come as a surprise to many, including in South Africa, that Wales is twinned with Lesotho (which is surrounded by SA),

I never got what Graham Henry saw in this guy. He was mediocre at best. He had little presence at the breakdown, he was weak, wasnt a very strong runner. He was fast and had some ball skills was about it. But after this game It confirmed how hopeless he really was. And he was the captain for this game even, I think.

Really sad that when I search up Rodney So'oialo highlights this is the first thing to come up and the next thing is Kieran Reid highlights, Rodney was one of the greatest number 8s we have ever had and when at his best was 10 times better than Kieran Reid, yes he made mistakes in this one game but that shouldnt be what is his most publicly viewed representation.

Holding back deserves a card - Kaplan by Brenden Nel 21 May 2014, 15:45 Top retired referee Jonathan Kaplan has called on referees to stamp out the illegal tactic of holding players back in rugby games. Much of the attention these past few days has been focused on the red card given to Sharks flanker Jean Deysel and his three-week ban for making contact with the face of a Crusaders player out of frustration as his leg was being held. But there has been little attention to the fact that the tactic of illegally tackling players away from the ruck, or holding onto them is the problem that often causes the frustration for players and causes them to lash out. While not trying to justify Deysel’s actions, there is an increasing tendency for teams in Vodacom Super Rugby - particularly those from New Zealand - to use the tactic of holding players back, or use up the space in front of the ball, allowing the ball carrier to slip in behind. It does seem to be an Australasian tendency that is slowly increasing in Super Rugby this year. Deysel’s act was both reckless and wrong, and he was rightly red-carded by referee Rohan Hoffmann. He can also be very lucky his three-week sentence was as light as it was, with Sanzar’s sanction being seen as very lenient for what was a serious offence Kaplan has called for referees to take “immediate action” including the immediate issuing of cards for this specific infringement and calls the tactic “the biggest issue in Southern hemisphere rugby at the moment.” Kaplan told Supersport.com that it may have been difficult for referees to pick it up in the beginning, but it has slowly become worse over the past few years. “Certainly a few years ago when it reared its ugly head, it was very difficult for referees to pick up because it hadn’t been such a predominant issue in the game as it has become. I’m not sure that a lot of coaching is being put into it, and I’m not sure that the correct sanction is being applied to the transgressor. If the punishment does not fit the crime, then obviously teams will carry on doing it,” he told Supersport.com “If they are getting away with it and continuing to do it, it sends out a clear message that it is worthwhile to persist with this type of behaviour, because referees are not dealing with this issue effectively.” Kaplan, who still holds the record for the most test matches by a referee, gave two quick examples of how the tactic was being employed, saying it has a profound influence on the game. “In an earlier game this season, Nizaam Carr was pinned against the posts for a couple of seconds by a Reds player, and when he finally let him go, the post he was supposed to be defending was pretty much a vacuum and the Reds scored a try under the posts, with nothing done about it. "Similarly in the game between the Stormers and Crusaders, and no surprise that it is the same team, Jean de Villiers - who I rate as an exceptional captain - was heard talking to the referee, incidentally the same referee Rohan Hoffman, about what the referee wanted him to do because his players were being continually held back. “There is no question that Hoffman dealt with one instance expertly, where Schalk Burger was held back, but there were numerous others in the game that were missed. That is the real issue. It is not the one or two that are effectively dealt with, it is those missed that are encouraging teams to persist with the behaviour. “He is a markedly improved referee, but in this particular game he has missed them and missed them repeatedly. Sometimes these type of tactics have a profound influence on the results of matches.” Kaplan says therefore referees need to get tough and a yellow card is the only way to go for this “cynical” tactic. “What I advocate is a yellow card. It is a cynical infringement which doesn’t need a warning, it actually needs a card - it needs a yellow card, and an immediate yellow card. If teams see that you are doing it and they are going to be carded, I can almost guarantee they will stop doing it. It is very important to note that, it is a cynical infringement which falls under foul play which does not need a warning. “Referees are too placating, they are too understanding in respect of this aspect of the game, and they need to ratchet up their sanction a whole lot better than it is at the moment. Whether that requires better coaching or a better understanding of what is at play, that is a moot point. “But, for sure the sanction needs to be upgraded.” “These comments are pointing out something that is becoming a big issue in the modern game, particularly in the Southern hemisphere, particularly in Super Rugby and it needs to be eradicated immediately. We cannot wait for next season, it needs to be done now, and the reality is that it has been going on for a few years now and it is becoming progressively worse. “Either the refs need to be taken to task or they need to be given ammunition to sanction the behaviour in a different way so that it doesn’t persist.” “I say the same thing every week. It is the biggest issue in Southern hemisphere rugby at the moment. I am hopeful that it will be sorted soon.” © supersport.com

please mate then explain the very terrible calls the boks faced in 2011,2013 and 2014?the fact is that nz is that theall black players dont get cited either Mccaws tackle on Louw in Wellington should have been cited and he should have been card the same with Messam in Ellis park. The fact is if refs would wake up nz would not be sitting 3-0 up the rugby championship it would actually be in 2-1 to the boks.

This is textbook A.B.R.T (i.e. All Black Rugby Tactics.). The basic strategy behind A.B.R.T is: "IF you can't BEAT them, CHEAT them". The All Blacks has skillfully been devising these "stratagems" for years and getting away with it. On a recent survey 80% of NZ Rugby Players admitted to cheating. The other 20% Lied....LOL.

@Capez17- Well you haven't really won a RWC away from home. You won in 95 @ home against a team suffering from food poisoning (If that didn't happen the AB's probably would have an away RWC win). & In 07, yeah you won in France but you didn't have to play France did you? So it's more of a neutral win, it shouldn't really be classed as an away win. Besides, you guys were gifted a place in the 07 final, you had to beat Fiji & Argentina to make the final (2 teams that have never beaten the Boks or the AB's) & then in the final itself, you came up against a mediocre English side & England's record around 05 - 07 will show that. So hardly anything to brag about over the AB's triumphs.
