Really clean... and nice, I have a '59 Series 62 4 door, 6 window with factory working AC / power windows, and 6 way power seats, I have owned it for 13 years it is solid rust free Texas/ Arizona with no rust original interior with no tears or rips....was under seat covers for 50 years, in Brieghton Blue. I would have a very hard time parting with it , I change the oil every 500 miles and it purrs....used to take my 93 year old mom for rides on Sunday. she passed in 2016...

Fond memories. We had the same model in black with white vinyl and black cloth. I maintained it as a teenager. Passed my driving test in it. Recall every detail. Learned that to prevent the white vinyl from yellowing and to keep it supple it was important to keep it free of body oil. Foam upholstery cleaner worked fine. Didn’t need any other dressing. Rain Dance gave the paint a deep black shine. I recall the door, hood and trunk latching sounds, as well as the new car smell, which it never lost. Vinyl covering the trunk floor is correct...grey houndstooth. Plain, but easier to clean than carpet. The hubcaps on this car have been overly polished. There was a faint misting of whitish-gray paint in the recesses, which gave the caps a bit more depth. The finish on the center hub wasn’t as brightly polished as shown.

Classic Beautiful Cadillac. All it needs is matching white interior, and white leather seats.

Then it would not be a correct original unrestored Cadillac.

WOW! Time Capsule! I owned a Coupe De Ville 59. Bought from the local dealer in early 1960. It too was a capsule! One of those that I should have held on to. Now I'm driving a newer car. 1966 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham with 29,000 miles. Another time capsule.

Real nice car, ive had many Cadillacs here in the UK, i often find Series 62 cars are in better shape than DeVilles, as if the owners had to work a bit harder to buy them and looked after them better. I've seen several original 59/60s with those runs in paint on the core support, i believe they were painted standing up prior to fitting hence the runs go accross the car

My first car memory was of my dad's 1956 Cadillac, Pink with a black top!! I was 2 at the time. He owned 2 1959 Cadillac motor cars. He wrecked one of them, and I can't remember what happened to the other.His last was an Eldorado with front wheel drive.

Fascinating...for sure thought by '59 every caddy made came with power windows and seats...apparently not...

There were still old fashioned buyers like my Dad who didn’t want them.

Do the windows have greenish tint?
@rodneyracer2 ай бұрын
Yes, "E-Z-Eye" glass has green tint. Almost all Cadillacs had this option. CLEAR glass was available but not a typical request. Original glass has this mark or what is called "bug" and a date code below it. Replacement glass if original "LOF" will have the bug and a later date code. Aftermarket glass will have a different BUG or can be ordered with NO BUG. Some restorers can apply a bug with the correct date codes on new glass.

@rodneyracer that's very insightful. Thank you. I recently bought a 59 Coup Deville, and it has all clear glass.

@@ЮрийГригорьев-ь8х Original clear glass will have the LOF "bug" and date codes that are close to each other in the code. I find clear glass seems to have been ordered in "colder" climates
@ЮрийГригорьев-ь8х2 ай бұрын
@@rodneyracer yeah, my windshield has a "LOF" bug stamp. The numbers are too faded away to read, unfortunately. I couldn't find any other "bugs" on other glass pieces.

WOW, yeah my Father had a 66 Toronado and with dual exhaust every 2 years it was some part that was getting noisy--Not sure if that is worth more as is or restored? Would be such a shame to be it deteriorate just to keep original, mileage is amazing. As beautiful as those cars were I think GM viewed them as disposable and that's why such drastic changes from year to year, the downside is those cars or 50's and 60's in general were just rust buckets, that's a true survivor, thank GOD for CA weather and a few loving owners
@johnfranklin52774 жыл бұрын
Dont see anything on this car that needs restoring. Paint is perfect. As is the chrome. Interior is 99 percent . May need a few under the hood items. I have a 58 cadillac series 62 sedan that my parents bought in 1960. Has factory air, and power windows. Lifelong southern California car, still driving it. Its decent, but could use a new paint job, and interior is all original, and has really reached the point of needing to be redone. Oh well, someday for that stuff !!

just found this great video !!, plz don't get me wrong, this is a beauty, but WHT OH WHY is it that these very rare survivors are always the cheapest model ? why on earth could it not be a Fleetwood Sixty Special, or at least a DeVille 4 dr. flattop, ? and crank windows ? NOT ON MY CADILLAC !!!!!

Old fashioned buyers Ike my Dad. Ours cost $4500 new, about twice the price of a Chevy.
