I was doing a singer songwriter night in Murtaghs Bar Kingscourt (Co.Cavan) in the early naughties when I saw a poster for an upcoming gig from an act called ‘Rodrigo Y Gabriela’. I knew with that name they weren’t local ha. Turned out they were busking on Grafton Street (Dublin) I managed to get some of their material and became an instant fan. The guitar work and arrangements are nothing short of amazing. Well many years later the won a Grammy (Best Contemporary Album) and are now up for another Grammy (for their cover of Metallica’s ‘The Struggle Within) . In hindsight, hats off to the guy in Murtaghs (Paul was his name I think) who booked the bands etc turned out he knew his stuff 👍. What an amazing act 👏👏👏
