Just got my Ally X, i think the volume itself is fine but putting it next to my original Rog Ally the audio quality itself is huge. The original has a lot more bass to it where the X sounds like the handheld js inside a bucket.

@BigDaddyMacc i just selected the first slider and pressed dpad up for each one and tab to move to the next one. im glad you liked this setting, i use it for everything and fine tuned it using cyberpunk 2077 with a headset to listen to key elements between highs and lows. the more you go up with one thing, the worse quality gets elsewhere and i found this to be a really nice sweet spot

Bear in mind that when you boost volume with a software like FX Sound, you are altering the dynamics of the sound. Games won't sound as they are intenfed. Quiter sounds will become much louder. You can hear how the audience sounds gets louder compared to the narrator sound for instance

i cant tell much difference, im sure there is in person maybe the the mic compression then uploading to youtube makes it hard to tell but respectfully i dont think a football game is the best example to showcase a sound test also i would be worried about distorting the sound or even worse blowing the speakers out by adding extra 3rd party boosts to volume but maybe a DB reader app could also be installed just to be safe if the FX does not already have one

Can you do a video on how to properly use AFMF 2? When I turn it on it’s very choppy and makes the fps worse. I feel like I’m missing out by not knowing how to properly use it and when to use it.

Thanks for the suggestion Justin! Sure I’ll cover this - I have heard that with AFMF 2 currently in beta that yes it’s not too great to use currently unfortunately…

Thanks Pete, I’d probably be better off just waiting for the full release as when I try it in games like Elden ring it performs very poorly compared to when I have it off. Keep up the great videos this one helped me with the sound issue .

I had the same problem and I put it on dolby movie eq and still the OG ally was louder. I ended up uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them and still nothing then By accident the ti smart amplifier driver was rolled back to version 3.0.14.7 and that made the ally x louder than the OG ally set in movie mode eq in dolby. Still tho the game preset is not good on the x but on the OG ally is super loud still. Try this and let me know what results you get. Thank you for trying to address this issue pete.

It shouldn't do MCK, make sure all your drivers as shown in my recent 14 Step Optimisation Guide is all up to date including the Dolby Atmos app!

@PeteTalksTech everything but application are up to date and on top of that I am the only one who has reported the problem on the Asus website because since the update of the bios the audio cracks and it is annoying, and I tried to install FXsound but I find the audio not clean too loud and loud

Hmm hope you find a solution MCK - there may be a chance it may be a fault with the actual physical speakers perhaps rather than a hardware issue?
