Recently got the ROG Strix G18 i9, RTX 4080. I've upgraded to a 2nd 2TB NVME and to 32GB since purchasing. Excellent performing laptop running RDR2, The Last of Us, GTA V and Half Life Alyx at native resolution without issue. Undervolting the CPU resolved any heat issues I was concerned about and I see no loss in performance.

I bought this a week ago, but with a 4080 and 32Gb of RAM. The screen is just beautiful, and I can play anything I want on it at maximum details with ray tracing. Cyberpunk 2077 looks incredible with Ray Tracing Overdrive and Path Tracing turned on, and it's buttery smooth.

@@commandantee This would be big. (the machines) But it could be a great idea to get a even bigger screen to very very use. I didn't tried yet my 18" laptop from closer. (in front) Then you could improve visual technologies to a even higher level and the design. This could be a laptop station. You could use a futuristic screen resolution for a even greatest screen and image size. Instead of "full" wideness. The current HD screens resolutions are only made for 10:6 or 9:6 image resolutions.

@@commandantee When I'll buy my 48" external monitor it won't be exactly the same thing that with my current system cause of the size of both screens. The laptop will be at the left and I'll stand lot more at the front of my 48" external monitor with a external wireless keyboard. This will make space to place my 2 external disc players/writer below the monitor. And I'll probably be able to use the laptop face to face in case. When the big monitor is at the normal level,instead of a bit above cause of the types of desks with a place above for the monitors,that's the best for entering inside the screen.

No. The G18 is non-Mini-LED, and "Nebula" is not automatically Mini-LED, but you can find ROG Strix 18 with MiniLED. So, always look for "MiniLED" in the product description before buying.

Question for users of this equipment. How long does a laptop battery last during normal operation (not gaming). According to this test 3-4 hours and according to notebokcheck even 8 hours. This is a big discrepancy. I'm considering the g17 or g18 and the larger one theoretically has a much longer battery life, but in terms of of this review, the runtime is similar to the g17.

it does, have this one and it's really awful in that sense. will never buy asus again. it's perfect in all other aspects, but the coil whine just kills it. I can't stand it when I'm not in a noise canceling headphones. the worst part the whine is strong on idle and low load (on high load you won't hear it past fan noise). the noise is like you have mechanical hdd inside it that is constantly working. incredibly annoying.

With this laptop u can easily get 120-130 FPS playing Battlefield 2042 online in ultra settings on an 2560x1440 resolution. This is with Ray tracing and Dlss on. Turbo mode fans are also not noisy when the GPU switch mode is on ultimate mode. It's a beast and definitely worth the money.
