Roger Federer was a miracle for the sport. Something truly special that you just know is rare, it doesn't come often. He made millions of people all around the world fall in love for tennis. This natural elegance, so effortless, he is such an icon like no one else. I don't care how many titles Rafa and Djokovic end up winning (they can be the greatest champions of the sport), all I know is that Roger will always be remembered as the greatest and most perfect "tennis player" there ever was. No player in the history of tennis will ever come close to the prime of Roger Federer. From 2003-2009, he won 6 Wimbledon’s, 5 US Open’s, 3 Australian Open’s and 1 French Open. He beat Sampras’ record of the most Grand Slam titles (14) in just 6 years. Personally I think he’s the greatest player in tennis history, although he no longer has the most Grand Slams anymore. He can do things that nobody else in the history of the game has ever been able to do with a racket.

that said, he packs heat, too, especially in his service game. aced himself out of trouble quite a few times in his incredible career! and his play style somewhat disguises his quickness, as he just seems to be effortlessly gliding all over the court. but hey, nobody catches up to what seems to be every single shot without some jets in his legs! he's essentially the perfect synergy of strength and grace in the tennis world, which is what sets him apart from pretty much everyone else, and why his game is such a magnificent sight to behold.

I’ve been following tennis my whole life and the tennis GOAT debate has always been fascinating. One can make strong arguments for all 3, Federer, Djokovic and Nadal and the answer isn’t self evident. However, I do have this to say : If all 3 were to play each other at their absolute peak, like on their best day, Federer would absolutely destroy both (in my humble opinion). The Fed is the *only player in any **_individual_** sport* to *_simultaneously_* be that sport's aesthetic touchstone, greatest creative shotmaker, and most successful winner. (This was during the 2003-2009 period). That he should have done it in a sport as athletically, physically, and mentally demanding as tennis beggars belief. Perhaps just as impressive is that he continued to be among the sport's top 3 players for another 10 years, keeping up with two elite younger guys whose game plan against him was ceaseless baseline attrition.

The level of tennis by Roger from '04-'07 has not been seen/matched since by anyone. Just my observation, have been watching tennis since early 90s when Americans ruled tennis

Federer between 04-08 was another level all together, it wasn’t that the era was weak. It was more the fact nobody had answers to his aggressive style of shot making. From 2004 to 2008 (losing two finals and a semi in 2008 but still a great run) he was just phenomenal, only nadal matched him on clay during this run. This alone speaks volumes of his status as the greatest ever. Offcourse nadal and djoko are also one of a kind, their longivity, mental strengths, and ability to grind out results when matters are just a thing of beauty, but there was not a time where one of the two dominated for 5 years in a row in every GS (EVERY) they play. Records are meant to be broken. That's a fact - especially in pro sports. But what if there was no record set by others to chase and every time you stepped out on the court, the only person you'd be chasing was yourself and your own records? It's always easier to set your vision on a bar set by someone else, but to be a real pioneer - that's incredibly difficult. I love the big three, but to be the first and to set that first bar as high as Roger did without really anyone else before him, so that others have something to chase and reach beyond...that's the MVP of tennis right there.

eventhouhg only 20 grandslam titles he will be only the GOAT. these are the reasons : He was ranked world No. 1 by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) for 310 weeks, including a record 237 consecutive weeks, and has finished as the year-end No. 1 five times. In 2018, he became the oldest ATP world No. 1 at age 36.

Meanwhile the player who beat Fed 3x at Wimbledon Finals has.... 21 Grand Slam titles A record 373 weeks as World no.1 A record 7x Year-end no.1 A record 38 Masters1000 titles Only man with Golden Masters (twice) Only man to complete non-calendar year Grand Slam in the Open Era First to achieve a Double Career Grand Slam. Only man to win 80+ matches in all 4 Grand Slams Yeah right Federer is the GOAT lol 😭🤣

@@poppincam you do realize rankings were frozen from Mar. 16, 2020 up to Aug. 24, 2020? That's almost 22 weeks. If you are spitting stupidity just make sure you don't make it so obvious and silly hahaha. If they did not freeze the rankings Novak Djokovic total weeks at #1 should be around 390 - 400 weeks. Federer can thank the ATP for that hahahaha. Federer can have that consecutive weeks at #1 record because it will be such a shame if there's nothing left for him 😂. Slap that 373 Weeks in your face 🤣. He was surpassed and that is a FACT. Oh and by the way Djokovic has finished as the year-end No. 1 A RECORD SEVEN TIMES and by simple math 7 is more than 5. I know it hurts sooooo much Mr. 40-15 got smashed many times but time heals everything 😭🤣.

@@nikosdioniso3411 that's really narrow-minded to just look at the Grand slam total when they're all three within one of each other why don't you think about the way they played and the record while they're playing in their prime each there's a case to be made for Nadall but Djokovic started out not so classy and Federer had two majors was five consecutive wins in the finals and both were at the same time so during those five years no One compares because it's the same time he was also winning several Australian Open titles
