Never noticed how light on his toes he is until watching the slow motion. Great foot movement.

Hi Florian. Thanks for sharing the slow mo on Roger. So much to learn: Fluidity of movement. He makes it look so smooth and effortless. I watched the entire segment one time just looking at his footwork. It seems to help him strike the ball with less effort. And cover the court more quickly. I'd thought about switching to a two-handed backhand, but now I'm thinking twice. Thanks again!

Roger all around the greatest player and an unbelievable person off the court as well. What with his foundation work and being a class act what else can you say about the maestro!
@raymanbert7409 жыл бұрын
Andreas well said and as mentioned Roger can be defined as much more than a tennis player. His foundation, his interaction with his sponsors. the fans. the family man.. He is a very "deep" person in my evaluation though I have never met him personally. Certainly miss him the day he retires. Hopefully that is not for a while!!

Admiro a Federer, el mejor del tenis mundial. Parece que estuviera dando un concierto clasico, con armonia y suavidad en sus movimientos. Aprendo mucho de este gran tenista. Forehand. Server pronation etc.

the troublesome part is that it feels that some of his forehands, backhands and service look as fast as my strokes and service but the difference is that it is here not just slow motion which is already bad enough but that it is referred to as super slow motion for him.

Hip rotation for power - Can someone clarify this? Roger is barely seen rotating his hips. His shoulders seem to be moving more than his hips. His chest is almost in line with where his feet are pointed to. This is in contrary to other tennis videos by pros that mention about more hip(core) rotation and less shoulder movement for max power. Florian - what do you think?
@ramyg50378 жыл бұрын
Thanks Florian for clarifying this.

Every tennis manual should have Betterer photos, start to finish :) It's funny how in tennis you have to hit every shot "blindly". Federer never once looks at the target court, his sense of the court size and his position when hitting dictate whether the shot is in or not, not his vision.
@DjokovicIsOurLordAndSaviour8 жыл бұрын
Tomkaten it's true that Federer and Nadal hit blind. But it's not necessary Murray and Djokovic don't hit blind for example.
