You're not incorrect! Im 55 and, though we may not hv been young children when he burst onto the scene in '03, we still "grew along with" Roger in his development and during his whole career. So, in that sense, a part of us also went through the beginning and ending of the journey as well. Both Roger and Tom Brady's career virtually ran along parallel tracks so that, when both retired less than a year apart from each other, I felt a part of myself dying as well. So often it is said that, you don't know life is happening to you until it's gone. What a ride it was!

Roger has more financial success from tennis, but most experts will say Djoko was slightly better than Roger. If anything, Nadal was closer to Djoko. However, I do agree with you that Roger's game looked most effortless, but you don't become GOAT for making it look effortless. Ilie Nastase made it look effortless also, but he's not considered one of the GOATs. You have to look at the records, and records say Djoko was just slightly ahead of both Roger and Nadal. I'm sad that I stopped following tennis as much as he stopped playing at that level, but I'm so stoked that Alcaraz won. The Big 3 are GOATs, but I'm glad to see that "5 year wave" and I really hope players like Sinner and Alcaraz live up to those expectations (kind of unrealistic to expect them to top the GS tally from the get go). At the end of the day, it's the game that needs to be celebrated, players come and go!

Roger ❤ He made more highlight shots in a match than others in a season. Some shots I still didn’t see from another player (dropshot directly from serve, flick halfvolleys). There is no other like him.
