What’s amazes me about Federer is he won many majors and tournaments on the old faster courts against greats like Sampras, Agassi etc. Then tennis slowed down the courts and changed the game he still won many majors and was a force for another decade while playing against the GOAT’s Djokovic and Nadal.

It doesn’t seem that much slower than today. In between around 2010 plus or minus some years, they really slowed it down to an unbearable level

@@CtiborJasek Maybe , but Novak is a better player than Agassi is , I don't even want to debate that . Prime Novak and prime Roger are closer than a lot of fans think . The faster the surface the bigger advantage Roger has , the slower it is the bigger advantage Novak has but overall Novak is a more clutch player which is why ultimately he came on top more often than not .

Great match, i still remember watching this on TV all those years ago. Andre at 35 still proved that he could compete at the highest level. Only thing that irritates me now is the absolute Agassi fanboying by the commentary team.

I saw this superb final live on TV. It was a tough win for Federer. Andre Aggasi was as tough as Jimmy Connors, when he was at his best.

I don't know man, I still think that a 3 years younger version of Andre could beat 2005 Federer in at least 4 sets. Despite not having a great service Agassi's game from the back of the court is more complete than the Swiss.

@@sephsalvador6838 True. With en even faster ball. That guy is the Ronaldhino of tennis, if he had been serious during his career, he would have been number one during ten consecutive years. Sampras said he was the only player he couldn't beat when they were both playing at the top of their game. The difference is the mental Novak has outside the court, the ultimate perfectionist, which may not be always easy to live for his relative as he often says.

If nowadays hard courts were like backnin 2000s then Novak would not win so many slams. It's unsurprising that Novak started to win slams when surfaces were slowed down artifically.
