While this scene is beautifully reanimated, I must admit I have one gripe. The emotionless and mute guards. They create 2 wonderful points in the original flashback from Smoker. 1. When they ask for his final words Roger asks to have his cuffs removed because they are chaffing, which is great for showing how relaxed he is. 2. Both while the onlooker is asking and during Roger’s speech they are telling everyone to be quiet and try to speed up the execution to shut Roger up. Their inability to control both the crowd and Roger best shows that even though it was his execution, Roger was in complete control.

I like the old VA too for Roger as well as mihawk. His old voice truly sounded like that of a fearsome person RIP. Not only that everything they reanimated feels so rushed. In the original they would leave you hearing nothing but the tolling of the bell for like 30 seconds, made it surreal like an event that really would change the entire world

It's interesting in this very moment he was executed. There are over like, 50 pirates whos bounty are above 100 million but they don't cause havoc. They just watched in the sidelines and hear what Roger has to say and be executed. Then what they heard. Was a start line of finding one piece.

@@bigbangpegasusmaster No, many people get confused between the ideas of duels and one fight. I'm pretty sure there was this youtuber once that thought Shanks only fought Mihawk once. But Moria was able to DUEL with Kaido, that means he was equal to him. But then Kaido fought Moria once again when he was in Wano, and Moria lost. My theory was that Kaido learned how to use advanced conqueror's haki in his last fight with Moria, which allowed him to beat Moria.

I don't think you're far off. I think the real treasure is the world becoming one sea (one piece) by destroying mariejois, and reverse mountain (dividing the world) and the calm belts with the ancient weapons. The real treasure is freedom. X marks the spot at reverse mountain and there's an x in the map itself. That's where the final battle will happen and Luffy will punch someone through the mountain itself to destroy it, unite with Laboon, Sanji getting his ”all blue” dream accomplished in the meantime too. Oh also joyboy was apologizing to the fish people because that place would have to be destroyed in order to have a true and free one piece of ocean/water mass I'm calling it now

My guess is that One Piece is not only the treasure, but the concept of what it is. Rodger and his crew were brothers in arms, family thru and thru in all but blood. The treasure is real, the true treasure is the adventure to find it. The fullfilment of ones dreams for adventure and freedom on the open sea. Luffy and crew our on their way, he will gain the title, add to the treasure and pull like Rodger and pass the dream on to the next generation.

I believe in one of the latest gold d Roger death scenes, it showed them screaming immediately as he is stabbed and him slowly watching and listening. Plus your hearing is the last thing that goes so he must've heard the mayhem, scientifically speaking.
