There's something about this tune that makes me so happy when I hear it. It is pure joy in audio format. So nice. Thank you.

I remember seeing Vasen in Bishop, California at the Millpond music festival. So nice and a surprise to see them again.

This tune reminds me of an old Irish tune the Duliners performed called "Christ Church".

I didn’t look at the “guitar” closely. I see it is in the mando family!

What’s with the rosette thing on the mandolin?

Are these Northfield Instrumens ? What is the Hurdy Gurdy type thing? Nice sounds.that guitar sounds great!

Roger is playing a Northfield flattop octave mandolin and Olov is playing a nyckelharpa (Not a Northfield! We'll leave this one to the brave masters!) It is sort of a hybrid of a hurdy-gurdy and fiddle. Thanks for watching.

Oh don't say that too loudly around nyckelharpa or hurdy gurdy players...... (fortunately both of them are typically slightly deaf) they tend to get a bit irritated about being confused with each other 😂😂

As near as I could tell, Roger has the octave mandolin tuned to "normal" tuning (as opposed to his ADADAD-type guitar tuning)... is that right? Regardless, this was a delight.

He's tuned GDGD which is like the middle 4 courses of ADADAD at capo 5

@@GabrielHawkPot Thanks for the clarification. Roger seems to capo-up quite a bit on the guitar, so I guess that would make this tuning familiar.
