Freddie made Queen superstars!!! So without him can't be bigger!!! They all are great musicians, but Freddie had that magic thing that launch them to the stars!

That is true. He will never replace Freddie. But he does a great job, in his own way without imitating Freddie. That's what makes him such likable.

It’s funny but also pretty rude how the interviewers were just jumping in asking all these questions without giving Roger a real chance to let his calm, soothing voice answer them. I mean c’mon people if you really want to get the most out of the interview, let the man speak!!

I agree with you, to a point. No one will ever replace Freddie, which is why, when Paul joined Queen, he insisted that they become Queen + Paul Rogers, rather then just Queen!!! Paul is an incredible vocalist in their own right, and the mix of the two is brilliant, the emphasis for Queen's music is to get out to the generation that we now live in, so let's enjoy it, rather then slate it.

He said "Yeah, but he's got quite a few copies now but he still uses the main one when live" (Roughly) I don't think Queen are playing stronger, if anything weaker, The crowd aren't in a frenzy with Rodgers, nobody can and will ever beat what Freddie brought to the band.

Love Bad Company since forever, but, their is only one FREDDIE MERCURY! I read a comment a minute ago. And I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING SHE SAID! Freddie WAS the driving force, and I don't wanna offend anyone,but without Freddie, their probably wouldn't have been QUEEN!

oh yeah i totally agree, and i'd have loved to have seen freddie and queen live but unfortunately thats a bit before my time, but i saw queen + pr and its the best live show ive ever seen, its also really nice to hear the songs in a different way, they sound new and interesting, im just saying if half the people who were slagging paul off went and saw them live they'd definately be impressed. i was pretty dubious when i first heard about it as well

How can an interviewer expose his level of intellect while questioning great musicians Now I know why Freddie never wasted his time for interviews
@SepherStar
@SepherStar 16 жыл бұрын
Queen was so great, because unlike other bands, the essence of the band was not contained within one member. Freddie was great but he alone didn't make Queen as great as they were. It was the combined talents of all of them that fell together in perfect harmony and made the band what it was. The remaining members are still great together and have more to share with the world. They wouldn't do it if they thought Freddie would have a problem with it.

Yeah I know, the clothes, specially in the 70´s...but although he had this wild image the guy is a polite english man as well as you see in his interviews. English rockers are charming because of that: polite AND wild at the same time!!

I agree too. Brian said early on that without Freddie "there is NOT a band called Queen" but I guess he forgot all that and has settled for something much less. It's a shame.

Queen doesn't really count as a band anymore, and hasn't since 1995 when they released their last album. They just tour playing old queen songs, they don't create or innovate anymore. When Freddie died, that was basically the end of Queen.

If the point was to go out with a glorified tribute band, they would have chosen a Freddie tribute artist. They play their old hits because they are proud of their heritage, but this union of Paul Rodger and Queen is more about the future than the past.

can't agree with you there .. it would be the robbie williams and queen show instead of the Queen and paul rodgers show.. even tho i like robbie williams he would make to much of a robbie show instead of a Queen show.. what it should be and luckily is right now unfortunately i have not yet been able to see one of their concerts but i have seen both DVD and own the Live album they brought out.. and it gave me goosebums all over

Paul Rodgers is no way near one of the best singers ever, just watched ROTCHAMPS dvd the Queen songs with Rodgers on vocal are terrible, i think Brian & Rodger have dived in big time! they should have at least tried to get someone close to Freddies range to do the songs justice, why oh why has it always to be someone famous, i bet there is someone somewhere who could sings these songs and do them justice, anyway Freddie must be looking down & cringing! LONG LIVE QUEEN AND FREDDIE!!!

It's not excellent without freddie? what kind of thing to say is that? freddie wasn't the whole soul of the band, but he certainly was the heart. it is not completely queen without him. Not a single bad word about paul rodgers, but they would do better.. without him, kinda'!

Queen - great. Paul Rodgers - great. Queen + Paul Rodgers - abomination. The two styles definitely do NOT mesh! Don't get me wrong, I'm not looking for the new singer to be a Freddie-clone, but so many for example from the Tribute concert for Freddie sung MUCH better with Queen than Paul Rodgers does.
