Roger always had a good voice, it’s just that he happened to be in a band with the best voice ever.

Roger’s just a legend. Had the pleasure of seeing him doing a solo show years ago when he’d just released his Happiness? album. His drumming is truly something else, but he’s undoubtedly a great vocalist too. I’d say it’s a good rock vocal. As for Louise Marshall here, well, to take on a Freddie vocal is about as hard as it gets and this is really a truly superb performance. Well done all and Happy New Year. 👏👏👏👏

It's funny how life works. When I became a Queen fan, I was a kid and Freddie was already dead. That was in 1995 or so. I felt like the yungin' in the fanbase. Now I feel like the old fart that's proud of the younger generation for recognising actual talent 😂

People always mention Roger as doing the high bits in Bo Rhap. Yes he did but he also had a fantastic middle range which until his early 60s was incredible powerful. His lead vocal on a dozen Queen songs, mainly his own, is absolutely awesome, particularly on Fight From The Inside , No More of that Jazz and Tenemunt Funster. In fact, on every single track it's really up there with the very best. Loser in the End, Modern Times Rock n Roll, Drowse, Rock It, etc etc. His voice isn't as powerful now but he's 75 so it would be insane if it was. In a good day he is still very good indeed but if you want to hear awesome gritty vocals with soul check out Blue Rock by The Cross which is probably the greatest rock pop album never to be released, let alone chart, in the UK. The songwriting, production and Roger's vocals are blinding. The only place it was released, although with curtailed promotion as it coincided with Fred's death, was Germany where it was nevertheless a minor hit.
