I visibly shuddered, chills all the way up my spine, when Roger referenced Neville Shute’s On the Beach. My father read this book as a young man and he would frequently reference it. To know one of my favourite songs on my favourite albums was originally based on this… quite powerful. To me, anyway. Thanks Roger, stay well

Whoever asked this question was probably referencing the first song Roger wrote for Pink Floyd, "Take Up Thy Stethoscope and Walk" from "Piper At the Gates of Dawn". That song's opening lines were " Doctor, doctor" same as Amused to Death's title track.
