I've tried many nots for that last whiting rig for no tangles but nothing really worked. Those 3 way swivels are so much better because of that 360 rotation and helped me land some of my biggest fish. I've had huge success with many species, not just whiting. Anything in the water will bite it with the right bait. Thanks!

I remember watching a snapper fishing video from New Zealand and the host showed how to use a stinger or keeper hook and he also said 95% of the fish he catches are on the little hook - I tried it and sure enough he was right ! I run a similar rig with the ganged hooks but i fit a swivel to the top of the gangs and have the sinker running between the hooks and another swivel about 1-1/2 m up the line , i think i got it out of the old Alvey handbook many years ago and the extra swivel seems to help with line twist . Thanks for another excellent video Roger !

@@RogerOsborneFishing Yes those videos to me were an eye opener and i used those techniques on bream in the estuary for many years . I noticed you were using Schneider line and i would like to hear or see in a video your thoughts on line choice for surf fishing especially for Alvey reels , i personally like a line that is a little stiffer or less supple as i feel it doesn't get affected by line twist as much but does hurt casting distance a little and what are your thoughts on fluorocarbon lines(for traces ) in the surf - worth the trouble - pros and cons etc . How is the south coast going after the fires ?

Do you hook the small hook into the bait? We call that a pennel hook in the uk.
@ianbertenshaw43504 жыл бұрын
wolfie498 Yes the keeper hook is pinned ( only lightly ) to the bait to keep it at the business end of the rig and it also helps with bait presentation .
