Great job, thank you again Roger for this video which will help a lot of people to choose the right laser engraving. Especially stainless steel to obtain many colors depending on laser power and speed of engraving. The wavelength of the laser used may be also a parameter to be considered in this experimental setup.

You're right.....very interesting!!! I would understand the frequency changing the color, but I was surprised to find out it was the focal length. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos. At first glance I thought, wow....that's a lot of money to just etch a logo.....but the pictures and the color are adding a lot more uses/options. -Mike

Great video! At about the 10 min mark you can watch the material lifting and dropping back to the work surface. I'm sure this is also effecting the focus. Again great video ! im trying to learn as much as i can before purchasing my first laser.

can confirm jpt mopa laser can do very precise and consistent color control on stainless without having to defocus.

Do you have any experience engraving sterling silver? I've watched a few tutorials and read some posts but I can't for the life of me get it to work. I've got a 30W Raycus with a 270mm lens - I'm thinking the lens might be the issue but I can't say for sure

I think that you are getting anodizing confused with annealing. Annealing is heating ‘stressed’ metals, so that the metallic grains are relieved of their stress and are less likely to crack under further stress. Anodizing is applying an oxide coating to a metal to change its color and offer a degree of resistance to corrosion. You are NOT annealing your stainless steel sheet, you are anodizing it. Keep up the great work. I am enjoying your liber laser series.
