I was about to buy these but saved myself some cash watching this review. Thanks for putting this up with your impressions, that design improvement you saw with the band peg killed it for me. I can get by with slip knotting and band pegs since it’s just me and I will be responsible for checking me own equipment. If I had others training on my rack, now I know how band pegs can fail pretty catastrophically. Thanks man!!!

They fixed it with the new design. Now there is a safety pin behind the knurl.

FYI - Rogue apparently heard you/everyone's complaint about this, and put a detent pin in for added security. Thanks for pointing this out, we all now have a much safer product.

Wow! From what I know, I was the first guy to really point this out. Someone from Rogue is watching my videos...

@@JasonCloseOK Indeed. This seems to be a really recent design update - I hadn't noticed the detent pin when I ordered some other stuff back in Feb/March. At least we know they're listening. Way to be the difference!

Instead of the knurled knob what if you used the washer and locking washer with a nut from their 1 inch bolts?

Just an update to anyone watching this video in 2022- rogue has changed this to now have a pin on the threaded side to prevent the issue Jason (and many others) had with them.

There is a thousand review videos about Rogue, 90% of them kissing RF ass to the point that every one blindly trust this company , But this is what I call a great review full of very important information and constructive criticism , Rogue has to to a recall of this piece ASAP! I was actually about to order a couple of these pegs it seemed like s cool and simple idea. Thanks man for sharing this information , Subscribed

Appreciate it. I don't want to discourage you from buying them, because they still might be useful. But there is an issue with them that you certainly should know about, at least to keep yourself from getting hurt. Take care.

As Peter said in the comments, the rogue shackle would be better for your ab slings etc. You'd then need to source some kind of detent pin though so that the shackle can easily be moved when you want to 👌

Just realized this would be a cool way to hang and store chains... I have two of the chain holders but due to site of the holders it's hard to get the carabiners off the device. I'm sure cured by just using larger carabiners but this would just look pretty cool. Is there any space to add a larger carabiner? Hard to tell how big that carabiner is
@JasonCloseOK5 жыл бұрын
What I would tell you to do is just to attach a larger carabiner to the existing one. I think it would add more mobility to allowing yourself to twist and turn the carabiner to get things on/off, and then you don't have to worry about sizing the right carabiner to fit in there. Another option is to look at the rope attachment, and you could just feed and hang your chains through one of those. But then you would be pulling the length of the chain through the attachment every time you use them.

I can see your safety concerns with this. Perhaps Rogue can allow the bolt to lock by installing a stylish cotter pin or some other locking mechanism. Thanks for the heads up. I have one in my gym that I use for band rotator cuff work. My criticisms about the carabiner are the same as yours; the movement is limited within that little hole. Maybe a smaller, but strong, carabiner would be more appropriate. Rock climbers could probably make suggestions: their lives depend on good carabiners.

That would work too. I think inverting the concept, and simulating the band peg would be good as well. Just always check to make sure it is tight before using. Thanks for the comment!

They should have made the groove a bit bigger...for the carabiner. I am debating is these to store chains. I have the monster chain holders but its actually hard to remove the chains. Frankly the chains do hold fine on band pegs, each band get peg can only hold two (3/4 inch chains) and three (5/8 chains) , otherwise there is a chance that the chains can fall off.
@jasonmcbride88 Жыл бұрын
I landed here while questioning how these really compare to the Monster Shackles. Were the Monster Shackles available when you made this? Would any of your attachments, particularly the ones along the horizontal beam work with the shackle? Seems like given the 2x price differential you would want to go with a shackle whenever you don't need that continuous rotation capability. Also taking stock of your point about the post safety issue, I noticed they have added a detent pin through the rear bolt, which must have been in response to the safety issue. Should have been a product recall in my opinion. You should see if you can get them replaced.

The shackles existed. I didn't get them because I wanted to be able to move these around quickly without needing a wrench.

Hi Jason, I’ve been watching a lot of your videos and noticed you never mentioned anything about your bench. I was just wondering your overall opinion of it and if there was anything you would change. Oh and Happy Father’s Day :) Ps-i enjoy your logic with smart/better ideas for these companies. Creative thinking!

Hey there, Are you talking about the flat bench that I use from Rogue? I have 2. The straight, wide flat bench, and then the variable/adjustable one that can also be used for decline. Both of them are fine pieces. The vinyl has held up, and they both are very solid. Zero regrets buying them. The only negatives I would say is that they are each very hard to move around, but I have not found a bench that was easy. Thanks for watching, and if I didn't answer the right question, just let me know.
@meisdetermined3 жыл бұрын
@@JasonCloseOK ok awesome. I was asking about the adjustable bench because I’ve wondered if the gap is ever a problem. The rogue 2.0 bench has a small/next-to-nothing gap but doesnt offer as many angles so it’s not as versatile. Thank you for answering so quickly!
@JasonCloseOK3 жыл бұрын
@@meisdetermined The only issue I've had with the adjustable bench is that the gap sometimes isn't big enough. It's snug enough that if you want to have a steep incline, and still point the seat up (to keep you from sliding off), there are some angles you can't do because it's snug. But this is a very specific problem that you should rarely find. I think they are both great. The adjustable one sits high when it's set to incline, so shorter people may not be able to get both feet on the ground easily.

@@JasonCloseOK oh wow THANK YOU so much for that info. Both of those bits of information have not been expressed on any other KZbin video I’ve watched.
