I really enjoy this game as it makes you responsible for your warband. The situation changes as people are wounded/knocked out, versus other games where your objective is always the same. This game allows for some great narratives, and I hope to see more of it.

This isn't an ice planet, it's covered in soap suds. this battle report should be themed to "working at the car wash". loads of fun.

Really glad you guys are doing Rogue Star battle reports. Was curious about the game, and the rule book just showed up in the post. I'm sure it's been mentioned since, and I forget what episode you guys mentioned it, but on page 62 there's a blurb about distributing XP and it says you can carry over unspent XP from game to game. Nothing is said about losing XP if all your characters die though…

Just realized how absolutely perfect this rules set is for everyone who plays Inquisitor or INQ28 and loves all the games workshop Blanchitsu stuff. I am wanting to do a ton of crazy kit bashing and do some narrative 40k because of a non 40k ruleset.... What is my reality right now?!

You got it man. This was my first thought as well. :)

I do like that this game puts an emphasis on trying to get your guys stabalised and off the board. The expendable suicide soldiers, or essentially invincible of most games (eg needing a really bad roll to lose some one in Frostgrave) I find a little annoying. You are going to need to get some good shooting though Ash, to discourage the Major from just running down the streets guns blazing like a maniac.
@GuerrillaMiniatureGames8 жыл бұрын
ostrowulf I suspect the way the Major is built won't be actually legal in the game shortly. :)

I will be the annoying guy by pointing out a few rules errors: 1. Failing a difficult Terrain roll means you only move 2" into the terrain before falling prone. You don't complete your move. 2. You can't carry models who are larger than you are. Owen's little bot is Diminutive (size small) so he can only carry other small size models. His Father Knight guy is normal sized (or Big depending on which power armor he's wearing). Thanks for the videos, you guys do a great job!

MMMMK44 1) Snow states you make a roll at the end of the move if you run/sprint, so you have to move full distance, then roll. It isn't technically difficult terrain, it's just that type of roll. Otherwise you'd just move 2" and snow would be irrelevant. 2) Yup, he actually can't even have Diminutive in his Warband lol

the new father clone should be called the uncle.. tio slashy lol. This game is so brutal/cinematic, I could have totally seen that last sequence ala ghost in the shell anime style.

Great game, was rooting for Owen's space cops - the father will be missed!

It deeply amuses me that Isaac cut off the guys arm. He certainly has the weapon for it.

Howdy Ash, another great video. I recently picked up the Rogue Stars book and like the general flow of the system but it seems like the campaign system is a little thin on the ground. I am thinking of writing a fan-supplement / campaign pack / what-have-you introducing additional advancement and strategic objectives in the form of taking and holding turf in a lawless sector of space. Is there anything you'd like to see in an expansion on Rogue Stars campaign rules? Love the channel, and have a great day! Oh also, your cleaver/curved widget is dynamite. Is it available anywhere? A good measuring tool makes games so much snappier and fluid in my (limited) experience.

I'm really digging the terrain. Where can I get me some of those?

Ian Ronneil Navarro Time travel unfortunately. They're unreleased hard foam 40k buildings from the early 2000s :)

Great video! I just bought Rogue Stars and can't wait to play it with my friends. Quick question, I really like those Guerilla Miniatures Games measurement tools, are they for sale?

Hey Ash, yours and Owens videos got me into picking up this book and some new models just for this game. I have a question though, where does it say you can take the Hero trait right off the bat at character creation? Was this done as a house rule to speed up things?
@GuerrillaMiniatureGames8 жыл бұрын
Svejir You can't.
@Svejir8 жыл бұрын
Guerrilla Miniature Games Did you guys house rule it for this campaign?

Svejir No we just got it wrong when we first built our teams.

Guerrilla Miniature Games No worries. It frees up more points and makes more Faction Themes seem interesting like Mercenaries because they can be all Veterans and have one Elite starting. Which is a big deal vs. Civilians and Greenies. Built a small team the other night. On /tg/ there's a nice thread going on where people are talking about the game and making some great things like Character Reference Cards and things like that. Some good squads on display as well. I'm going to pick up some Raging Heroes Kastinovas for my little group. Any recommendations on good models to represent robots or units in exoskeletons?
@MMMMK448 жыл бұрын
The Dakini and Garuda models from Infinity make good man-sized robots (from the Aleph faction) as does the Combined Army Unidron if you're looking for something creepier.

Hey Ash... great BatRep! Who is producing these models for Rogue Wars? Does Osprey have them available, or is there another manufacturer whose models you used for the game?
@GuerrillaMiniatureGames8 жыл бұрын
Franklin G. Roberts III Owens are all available from Corvus Belli (Infinity). Mine are a mix of limited edition stuff (Sedition Wars Kickstarter Isaac) and converted bits and pieces from the MERCS Recon Kickstarter boardgame. Northstar does a line of official Models but we're using our own stuff. :)

I bought this rule book really hoping it would be a simple system akin to "Frostgrave in Space". I really regret my purchase...it's an unwieldy system. I've since homebrewed a Sci-Fi skirmish ruleset to take it place. As always, Guerilla Miniature Games did a nice job creating the video...but it can't save this system.
@robertcanavan84888 жыл бұрын
William Smith I was looking at buying the book myself, what did you find unwieldy about it? might save me buying it and hating it
@tablesaltgames8 жыл бұрын
This system is really taking off. I don't care for the miniatures line (hideous sculpts). I think I'll try using MERCS minis until Reaper Bones 3 sci-fi line is released.
