I think it was the worst dinner of his life for a different reason. Imagine finding out over dinner that your girlfriend's only frame of reference for an adult romantic relationship was a 60 year old man who she was told was going to help her with her powers only to try to groom her into his way of thinking at roughly 18-19 years old (yes legal adults can get groomed too, especially before the age of 25) and then the minute he found out he could have sex with her he exploited her for sexual intimacy and emotionally abused her (in her own words "there wasn't enough room in our affair for both me and his demons" aka he took shit out on her big time) and she doesnt see what was wrong with that. Seriously imagine that for a second. Imagine that was your girlfriend telling you she was sexually and emotionally abused without her realizing she's telling you she was sexually and emotionally abused but you realize it. How fucked would that be.

Lots of hate towards Rogue in these comments. I understand that what she did wasn't right and it broke Gambit's heart, but I understand her pov. When her powers first awakened, this woman accidentally put her first crush into a _permanent_ _coma_ when she kissed him. She's got a lot of trauma when it comes to her mutation. Of course she'd have a complex about how important physical touch is. Magneto is the only person she genuinely doesn't have to worry about with that. To her he represents security in a way Remy couldn't. I've seen real life relationships corrode due to someone's insecurity. I'm not saying she's perfect or blameless, but she's not a monster for making the choice she did. It was a mistake and she knows that now. Gambit made the right call with setting a boundary, but not hating her for it. Maybe if he comes back they can make amends... after they help fix the whole "murderous horseman of Death," thing he's likely to go through. Dude's gonna have some ✨ _trauma._ ✨

Plenty of X Men like Beast has the intelligence to do this amongst others. Also could've looked for people with Magical Powers to see if there's an artifact or spell she could use as the X-MEN again knows people who do that or are knowledgeable on others who do. She also could've just NOT do what she did in the first place bcus if it was reversed she wouldn't have tolerated it and the list goes on. She had options but chose the worst one

IRL, majority of young women are in relationships with older guys and PREFER older men. I sense a lot of naivety and even plain jealousy over people on the comments not accepting reality. Magneto is handsome, jacked and chiseled physically like a Greek God and is one of the most powerful mutants alive in existence and he is a natural born casanova.......the man could get any woman he wants. Brad Pitt at 60 years old looks like how he looked in Once Upon a time in Hollywood, dates younger women in general and is currently dating a woman more than half his age

It is understandable as to why she would choose the only person she knows of that can touch her (somehow) given her predicament, can even BARELY get past the age thing with them being adults, even appreciate her telling her closest interest about her choice in partner as a let down, but I'll be damned if this didn't hurt all of us just as much him.

A lot of people assume that rogue was a teenager in this scene due to that one comic series that depicted rogue as a teenager instead of an adult like the past comics had depicted in their meeting. I don't think that's the case though, they are clearly not drawing a teenager body in this flashback. So while this relationship is still very creepy, it's not as creepy as people are saying it is

Uhhh. Magneto: I'd like to show you some mutant art. Rouge: Paint me like one of your French Girls 🤢🤢🤮🤮. Ignoring the fact that remy was always loyal to Rouge. Ignoring that he's quite literally do anything for Rouge. Ignoring that he basically worshiped the ground she walked on and all the time she throw gambit away from her. That he still came back, was always there and never cared about anything else but Rouge. Gambit was always good to rouge. He loved her entirely. No ifs, no buts, no I got a past. Well so what Chere so does he. Made me feel like all those years Rouge took remy as a fool. She knew exactly how much he cared for her. She's absorbed his powers and everything that come with her gift before. She knew and Gambit never made a secret of it. Respected everything Rouge ever wanted. Never truely pushed any boundaries Rough set up. Loved her so much that just seeing her everyday was enough. Imagen she's what late teens or 20 something and he's a WW2 survivor... So at the time 50s/60s and I'll say it he was her first time. She was groomed. An old man took her virginity and told her he wanted to be in a relationship in a new better world he was creating not just for them but for all mutant kind. The whole Rougeneto arc just gave me the ICK. Doesn't matter if it's in comics, tv, fanfic, graphics novels or what it's just weird and kinda gross to me 🤮🤮🤢

What stretched the limits of believability was Rogue telling Remy - and us, the audience - that when they met and fought in the original series, she and Erik had to act like they hadn't previously known each other...for appearance's sake. Come on! You're telling me Charles or Jean didn't notice a mental hiccup or a spike in Rogue's heartbeat when discussing Maggie for YEARS? And why would Mags care who knew about his relationship with Rogue? As far as Remy, well, that's before they were a couple. It stings, I know, but, hey, Gambit's got a string of broken all over the South. The country. Hell, maybe half the planet! So he can't say TOO much about it! 😂
