That sounds just about right. Tube-based electronics are very resistant to EMP discharge - one of the most damaging parts of a nuclear bomb detonation. So most nuclear launch installations - obvious targets for opponent's nuclear devices - are made to be as hardy as possible to execute retaliation. "Dead Hand" systems, you see.

Also, his immensely foul language is a trademark of his books & quite possibly his personality. If u ever have a very rainy day & want to pass a few hours, I highly recommend.

at 4:45 just wanted to say, smoking around a high-explosive device is actually completely safe as they require a large shock load in a specific spot to actually get the reaction going, so even dropping it from that helicopter wouldn't cause an explosion. He could literally put the cigar out on the c4 if he wanted to. After all, they gotta be safe to transport lol.

I don't understand Marcinko's mindset. I understand the desire to paint himself as a hero but why on earth would he choose to depict himself as a war criminal? Describing himself as a "rogue warrior" combined with some of the actions in the game shows him as just a bad soldier with no respect for the chain of command or even basic human decency.
@AresRed3 жыл бұрын
Probably because during the Vietnam war he saw that conventional warfare was very ineffective, and following chain in command orders was pretty much useless, and decided to do unconventional guerrilla tactics and strategies, probably he found out that they were more effective!
@brawler7153 жыл бұрын
@@AresRed You think he acted like a war criminal?Or just like his books,they’re just exaggerations?
@robsomethin44152 жыл бұрын
According to his own autobiography, yeah. In Vietnam he said he would regularly give leave a note on his officers desk after he went to sleep reading "Unless otherwise directed I will..." basically detailing some of what he planned to do. Like a patrol late at night, rigging a bunch of traps, ect. and leaving before the officer ever got a chance to read it. So, in his own words, he does not respect the chain of command. His officers hated is "UNODIR" notes.
